Did You Know...

... that the Czech 4-way juniors set a historic record total in February?

4-way Junior world champions in 2019: HF Cubs
posted Mar 6th, 2026 - Czech Indoor Cloud League organizer Jan Klapka launched the 4-way junior project in the Czech Republic almost single-handedly and secured the country’s first indoor world championship gold medals in 4-way Junior at Weembi Lille 2019 with his all-female HF Cubs lineup.

His Indoor Cloud League teams at the Hurricane Factory Prague have been posting scores and videos on the monthly ICL leaderboards since June 2013. He used these events to introduce his 4-way juniors to 4-way formation skydiving competition from the ground up, as the ICL format includes competition classes that allow beginners at the grassroots level to become part of the 4-way community very early.

Jan Klapka has now reached a point where most of his participants are former or current 4-way juniors. He not only produced the junior world-champion lineup of the HF Cubs, who also continued competing in 4-way Women for several years. The Skywalkers Most lineup, formerly known as Skywalkers Junior, consists entirely of former 4-way juniors who developed through Jan Klapka’s junior program at the Hurricane Factory. The 4-way Open Class senior team is currently preparing for the upcoming indoor world cup, where they will try to confirm the 4th place they achieved at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025.

Jan Klapka with Czech 4-way juniors in 2015
Skywalkers Most appear to be on track with their preparations, as they have just posted the highest total in the Indoor Cloud League’s 4-way Open Class combination of the AAA/AA sequences. Two 32-point rounds once again formed the foundation for a historic record total for the Czech Indoor Cloud League team, reaching 167 points.

Jan Klapka had only four teams performing the six sequences, and three of them contributed to the February total. All participants were current (Sharks, Helikopters, Fenix) and former (Skywalkers) Czech 4-way juniors, and the absence of any senior 4-way teams in February did not hurt the Czech scoring level. However, Jan Klapka knows that he also needs to generate more junior participation to sustain and further develop 4-way competition in the Czech Republic.

The previous record for the total number of points across the monthly six sequences was 189 points, posted in January 2015, a few years before the current format with scoring limitations in the Rookie Class categories was introduced. The total of 167 points for the February sequences is based on the world-class performance of Skywalkers Most and the three junior lineups. The Sharks, who have been performing A and RRR sequences, have now lost their eligibility for the RRR sequences after recording their second score of 25 points or more.
