Once again, the event serves as the qualifier for next year’s FAI/ISC competition — this time the Indoor World Championship. Only one team per class earns the right to represent the United States at the world championships. Arizona Airspeed won in 2024 and represented the U.S. delegation at the indoor world championship in April 2025, even though the Golden Knights had claimed the national outdoor title in February 2025.
The Golden Knights are aiming to defend their national
indoor championship title this weekend, which would secure their spot at the next world championship in 2027. The competition opened with an interesting and somewhat surprising development: the new Arizona Airspeed lineup, flying in new slots, led the Golden Knights by four points after Round 2. However, the U.S. Army team quickly regained momentum and held a four-point advantage after Round 6. At the Wind Games three weeks ago, the Golden Knights and Arizona Airspeed finished ten rounds separated by six points. Once again, NSL News recorded the opening round in 4-way Open — traditionally one of the most exciting moments of any 4-way competition.
The Golden Knights currently hold both the national indoor and outdoor titles in 4-way Open. However, the situation in the women’s field suggests a split at this point in time.
Ranch TNT was the strongest 4-way Women team at the USPA Nationals 2025 and is representing the United States as the outdoor national team this year. The current 4-way Open leaderboard at Paraclete XP, however, indicates that TNT is unlikely to secure the
qualification for the 2027 Indoor World Championship as well.
Two other U.S. all-female teams are currently well ahead of Ranch TNT. XP4 and XPG4 are both guided by Jeana Billings and Jennifer Davidson. NSL News introduced the new XP4 lineup on February 4th, where the two XP8 members mentioned that a new XPG4 lineup may also be formed in the near future. Natalie Arcia and Joy Jing, teammates on XP Angels, are also working with Jeana Billings and Jen Davidson to keep pace with XP4 while staying ahead of Ranch TNT. XP4 are leading this internal duel by 12 points.
