Did You Know...

... that the Czech Sharks juniors take on the next senior team?

Elen Zielinska with Panthers
posted Feb 18th, 2026 - The 21.5 average of the Skywalkers at the February meet of the Czech Tunnel League may have surprised many in the audience. The Czech national indoor and outdoor 4-way Open team has consistently performed at a world-class level at indoor meets, so the lower average earlier this month raised some eyebrows. However, there was a good reason for it.

Krystof Rulf, Skywalkers’ point, was not available for the competition. Nevertheless, his usual teammates still attended the 10-round indoor meet. Jan Klapka, together with Skywalkers teammates Filip Lukavec, Antonín Ondracek, and Martin Stransky, decided to use the opportunity to introduce another Czech 4-way junior competitor to high-level competition.

Elen Zielinska has been training and competing with the 4-way junior team Panthers since 2022. The Panthers originally started in the Rookie Class in 2020, as most Czech 4-way junior teams do. Elen Zielinska joined the team when they moved up to A Class training and competition in 2022. The team continued its progression in the AA Class in 2023 and 2024 before taking on the full dive pool with the same lineup last year. They first passed the 20-average threshold in January this year (20.1–20.7), and Elen Zielinska has now added a 21.5 average with the Skywalkers to her own scoring records. The Skywalkers will now continue their preparations with their full lineup for the Indoor World Cup at Weembi Lille in April.

Czech 4-way junior team Sharks
Skywalkers, with Elen Zielinska in the outside center slot, Antonin Ondracek at point, still had no serious opposition at the February meet of the Czech Tunnel League. However, there was an exciting battle for second place on the AAA Class leaderboard between the Czech junior team Sharks and the Slovakian senior team Double Trouble.

The Sharks juniors entered the AAA Class at the beginning of the 2025/2026 winter season in November and have since competed in five 10-round meets. Early on, they were battling with Jan Klapka’s senior M Team, but they soon pulled ahead, as expected.

The Slovakian team Double Trouble was launched at the same CZTL November competition where the Sharks posted their first AAA Class scores. They also had their own internal rivalry with the M Team at the opening meets. As the season progressed, Double Trouble advanced alongside the Sharks and are now doing their best to keep pace with the rising 4-way juniors. Double Trouble posted their highest meet average at the Wind Games and followed up with another strong performance at the Czech February competition. The Sharks juniors matched Double Trouble’s average exactly at the end of the ten rounds. The 4-way juniors currently hold a record average of 15.3, achieved at the Czech Indoor Open 2026. Both Double Trouble and the M Team seniors will now try to keep up with the steady progression of the junior team.
