... that Arizona Airspeed explained the new slots for all on NSL Live Talk?

Arizona Airspeed at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025
posted Jan 25th, 2026 - Arizona Airspeed appeared on NSL Live Talk with their complete new lineup. The only team member not in Spain was team videographer Alex Swindle, as Airspeed is attending the Wind Games 2026—an indoor competition where neither his skills nor those of any other team videographer are required.

The previous NSL Live Talk featuring the full 2025 lineup was recorded after the conclusion of the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025, where Niklas Hemlin was still competing with the team. Although Alisson de Vargas had already joined Arizona Airspeed at that time, he was not eligible to compete at the FAI/ISC event.

The new lineup—Chris Kuhlmann, Joey Marshall, Alisson de Vargas, Doug Hendrix, with Alex Swindle on camera—made its competitive debut at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2025. One week after the indoor world championship, the team posted its first outdoor scores at the Shamrock Showdown 2025. They completed their first year together with a second-place finish at the USPA Nationals 2025. At that point, there was no indication that another lineup change would follow so soon.

The NSL News covered the recent lineup change in detail, including an NSL Live Talk featuring new team member Michelle Karamon on January 13th. In the interview, she confirmed that she had agreed to replace Chris Kuhlmann, Arizona Airspeed’s 4-way world champion of 2022 and 2024. Karamon also stated that the new Airspeed lineup was planning to compete at the Wind Games, where she would meet her former Ranch 2nd Generation teammate Chris Kuhlmann, who is filling her former slot on Tunnel Vision.

Chris Kuhlmann is only a temporary substitute for Tunnel Vision, where he teams up with his Airspeed world-champion teammate Niklas Hemlin. Both Arizona Airspeed and Tunnel Vision are competing at the Wind Games.

During the NSL Live Talk, Michelle Karamon explained that the slot assignments for the new Airspeed lineup had not yet been finalized earlier in the month. As a result, she was unable to share that information at the time. The assignments became clear only once the team began its Wind Games training on site in Spain. The new Airspeed slot configuration is likely as surprising to the audience and the 4-way competition community as the most recent lineup change itself. None of the current team members remains in the same slot they flew in their previous teams.

Arizona Airspeed at the Wind Games 2026
Michelle Karamon previously flew the inside center slot for Tunnel Vision, XPG4, and Ranch 2nd Generation. She now returns to the point slot she held with XPG4 until 2023. Joey Marshall gives up the point position to his former R2G teammate and moves to outside center, flying as her front-piece partner. While they did not share either the front or rear piece during their time with Ranch 2nd Generation, both are familiar with the positions, at least through B-slot training for slot-switching sequences in the past.

The biggest change may involve Alisson de Vargas, who moves from front-piece center (outside center) to the tail slot in the rear piece. Former tail Doug Hendrix assumes the inside center position for Arizona Airspeed. As a result, two former point and tail flyers will now handle the center work in the new lineup.

The Wind Games provide an excellent opportunity for Airspeed to test the new slot assignments. Michelle Karamon explained some of the reasoning behind the changes, which were already trialed in December when the team began training together. With no restrictions, the lineup experimented with multiple configurations before committing to the current assignments. The most recent indoor training hours were then focused on refining the final setup. The Wind Games will allow the team to evaluate the results of this new approach and measure its potential against their competitors in a meet environment next week, following additional indoor training in Empuriabrava.
