... that NSL Live Talk with Dennis Praet shakes up the NSL Power Rankings?

Wind Games 2020 awards
posted Jan 23rd, 2026 - The NSL Power Rankings provide previews of upcoming major competitions in 4-way and 8-way indoor and outdoor formation skydiving. The latest leaderboard focuses on the Wind Games 2026 in Spain, where the world’s top 4-way teams are registered for the first major showdown of the new year.

The initial NSL Power Rankings for this event were published with the update on January 19th. As usual, the NSL News aims to follow up with expert evaluations of the projected rankings before the competition begins. This time, NMP PCH HayaBusa team captain Dennis Praet took a closer look at the NSL Power Rankings and shared his insights during an NSL Live Talk.

NMP PCH HayaBusa last won the Wind Games in January 2020 with their historic signature lineup of Dennis Praet, Jeroen Nollet, and brothers David and Andy Grauwels. The team posted an impressive 34.8 average, finishing 16 points ahead of a new Arizona Airspeed lineup (Niklas Hemlin, Mikhail Markine, Joey Marshall, and Chris Kuhlmann). That Airspeed lineup would go on to win the next three indoor and outdoor world championships in 2022, 2023, and 2024, each time defeating new HayaBusa lineups. The Belgian national team returned to the Wind Games in Spain last year, where the current lineup delivered a strong performance, earning second place with a 30.8 average.

NSL Power Rankings before Dennis Praet's adjustment
Original Tunnel Vision lineup
NMP PCH HayaBusa are ready to defend their second-place finish, even though their primary challenger is likely to be a different team this time. The Belgians secured second place last year after a tie-breaking extra round against Tunnel Vision. For the upcoming event, the Golden Knights are expected to lead all other U.S. teams, including the newly restructured Tunnel Vision lineup. None of these teams, however, is projected to seriously challenge the French Aethers for the top spot on the leaderboard.

Dennis Praet confirmed the Aethers’ position at the top of the NSL Power Rankings and also anticipates a tight 10-round battle between his own team and the Golden Knights. He did, however, suggest a different placement for the new Tunnel Vision lineup, which had initially been grouped among the teams ranked behind the three leading contenders.

The most recent change to the Tunnel Vision lineup—reigning 4-way Women world champion Chris Kuhlmann replacing Michelle Karamon—convinced Dennis Praet of the team’s increased strength and prompted him to recommend an upgrade in the NSL Power Rankings. He now expects Tunnel Vision to fill the gap between the top three contenders and the chasing pack behind Aethers, NMP PCH HayaBusa, and the Golden Knights. As a result of his feedback, Tunnel Vision moved into sole fourth place on the updated leaderboard.

NSL Power Rankings after Dennis Praet's adjustment
Tunnel Vision lineup at iFLY Colorado Springs
Dennis Praet’s adjustment reunites the same four teams in the Top 4 positions as they finished a year ago. NMP PCH HayaBusa, Tunnel Vision, and the Golden Knights were separated by just three points, all trailing the French indoor world champions of 2025.

However, Praet does not expect the new Tunnel Vision lineup to threaten the three leading contenders, all of whom return to Spain with unchanged lineups and an additional year of indoor and outdoor training. The key question in the revised rankings is whether Chris Kuhlmann can help lift Tunnel Vision back to the scoring level they achieved at the Wind Games last year.

Tunnel Vision posted a 30.8 average in January 2025. The new lineup—featuring former Chimera member Laura Hampton replacing Keith Conner—made its debut in November 2025 at the inaugural U.S. Indoor Open 2025, where the team finished with a 23.8 average. Still, four teams ranked behind Tunnel Vision are eager to disrupt the newly adjusted NSL Power Rankings, including Michelle Karamon’s new Arizona Airspeed lineup. Tunnel Vision now features two reigning outdoor world champions, while Airspeed’s Joey Marshall will attempt to hold off his former teammates.
