The French national team in 4-way Open once again delivered the cleanest performance among the top contenders, finishing with just four point deductions. However, two of those deductions came at the worst possible moment—during the final round, which effectively turned into a jump-off. The ten-point gap between Aethers and Dynos after Round 8 became irrelevant heading into the decisive showdown.
Aethers Remix and Dynos tied the first of the last two rounds, but Aethers lost two points in Round 10, turning it
into the victory round for Dynos. Despite this, Aethers Remix still crossed the finish line with a nine-point lead and launched their indoor winter season with the only 30+ average in the entire 4-way field. The French outdoor world cup champions were well aware before the final duel that Dynos were dangerously close. The traditional leaderboard shows that Dynos had conceded only one round to Aethers Remix after Round 4. In fact, Aethers were 12 points ahead of Dynos at the end of the qualification phase, six points ahead of Unruly in 2nd place, and had posted the highest score in all four qualification rounds. It seemed like nothing could stop them from running away with the event.

Both Aethers and Dynos won their next duels in Rounds 7 and 8, Aethers (34/23) over Yasuke (29/22), Dynos (33/24) over Unruly (34/20). Roy Janssen faced another unusual situation in the semifinals. As one of the three player-coaches for Moulay Abbas (with Livio Piccolo and Michele
Silvi), he ended up dueling against himself in both rounds. Unruly featured two former Chimera members (Sarah Ashworth and James Wood), along with player-coaches Julien Degen and Roy Janssen.
Dynos lost Round 7 (33–34) but won Round 8 (24–20), which qualified Julien Degen for the final duel against Aethers Remix. Meanwhile, Roy Janssen would compete once again “against himself,” this time for the 3rd-place match against Yasuke. It was still only Julien Degen who stood on the 4-way AAA podium with two different teams. He coached the other three Dynos (Vana Parker, Sian Stokes, Pal Kolbenstvedt), who outscored Aethers Remix again in Round 10, and he also secured bronze medals with Yasuke. Julien Degen likely set a personal record at this event: he competed with six different AAA Class teams—Dynos, Unruly, Skjoldur, Oblivion, Kuaisude, and Nexium.
