Did You Know...

... that the teams in the A/Beginner Class started the second 4-way day?

4-way A/Beginner Class awards in 2024
posted Oct 28th, 2025 - The teams in the 4-way Beginner category opened up the day for the remaining three rounds in 4-way at the USPA Nationals 2025. Take-off time was at 7 am every day so far, and the AAA/Open/Advanced Class teams had a little bit more time on Monday before they had to be at the boarding area.

The NSL News mentioned earlier that the Beginner Class was the only category at the USPA Nationals with new record participation. Eleven teams outscored the inaugurating event in 2021 at the same place, where ten teams attended. Only three teams were on the A/Beginner Class leaderboard last year.

2024 winner CSC Singularity, competed in the AA/Intermediate Class this time and finished in 8th place of the 20 teams. AirGo members of 2024, who finished in 2nd place, moved up together with CSC Singularity. Father Al Etienne (Tail) and daughter Hannah (Inside Center) were the rear piece for Florida team Relentless (Flaviane Venditti, Brian Babernitch, Patrick Kessler on camera), and they won their next USPA silver medals in the next 4-way category. Flaviane Venditti trained and competed with XP Falcons in 2024 and finished again in 2nd place. Brian Babernitch, CitiZens member of 2023 and 2024, switched from Point to Outside Center. Only the highly experienced Spaceland Toxic lineup finished ahead of the Skydive City team.

Another team from Skydive City in Florida won another set of USPA silver medal in the A/Beginner Class with Door BlockerZ. Coach Sally Hathaway, 4-way Women world champion of 2001 and 2004, guided both teams to the USPA silver medals in the two categories. Door BlockerZ is a new team with three new 4-way competitors who attended four 4-way meets before traveling to Arizona, two indoor and two outdoor, including the Shamrock Showdown 2025.

Only inside center Jason King had previous competition experiences. He was Hannah and Al Etienne's team mate with AirGo in 2024 and decided to launch his own 4-way team with new team members for another year in the same category. Door BlockerZ were tied with winner Aircognito through Round 8, before the Kapowsin team ran away in the Super Sequence of three random formations in Round 9. They confirmed their 1st place in Round 10 and brought back the skydiving center in the northwest of the United States into formation skydiving competition.

Skydive Kapowsin had a strong presence on 4-way leaderboards more than 25 years ago when up to 43 teams (1997) competed in the Intermediate Class at USPA Nationals. The Florida Skydiving League was also represented by JumpFlorida Pop's Tards who finished in 4th place of the A/Beginner Class, DeLand's Hit Show in 7th place on the Intermediate Class leaderboard.
