Did You Know...

... that the USPA Nationals are an Aethers Lille training camp with ten competition rounds?

Joey Jones (2nd from left) with DeLand Majik in 2002
posted Oct 25th, 2025 - Saturday is the last training day at Skydive Arizona before Round 1 in all four 4-way events on Sunday morning will launch the horizontal formation skydiving competition of the USPA Nationals 2025. Meet briefing and competition draw will conclude the Saturday agenda at the end of the day. Teams were still warming up all day long to become familiar with the meet environment.

It was still neither a warming up situation nor a resting day for the French guest team, Aethers Lille, while Golden Knights and Arizona Airspeed were not seen at the competition site. The two youngest Aethers team members, outside center Tom Mattoni and videographer Cameron Malie, explained that their team defines the visit at Skydive Arizona as a training camp with ten competition rounds at the end. They were in training action all Saturday long.

The reunion of the original Airspeed members, with Jeana Billings in the lineup and Mark Kirkby as alternate, celebrate their event under the team name "The OGs". Arizona Airspeed is obviously taken by the current lineup who will begin the expected battle with the Golden Knights tomorrow morning. Joey Jones, 4-way world champion of Croatia 2004 with DeLand Majik, has a long competitive history with Arizona Airspeed. He is not going to face his former opponents directly on the same leaderboard, as he competes with a new lineup of the Salty Buzzards in 4-way Advanced. FX/DeLand Majik, Arizona Airspeed and Golden Knights battled for several years for the U.S. top spot in the late 90's and early 2000's.

XP Angels at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025
The NSL News mentioned earlier that the 4-way Open Class competition now also includes a qualification battle for the 4-way Women slot in the U.S. delegation for the outdoor world championship next year. The all-female lineup of Ranch TNT is not a pickup team at all. They told the NSL News on Saturday that they really are a well prepared team with over 150 training jumps this year and coach Niklas Hemlin. This brings two well trained 4-way Women teams together on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard, and only the first competition rounds will be the beginning of this duel story.

However, Platinum XP are still just as excited about their own duel with XP Angels as they were before the XP Angels' attention probably shifted into a different direction. The previously considered playful rivalry with their opponent of the last two years has now turned into a serious challenge with a 4-way Women opponent.

Kim Hollander knows who she will be facing with her Ranch TNT lineup at Skydive Arizona, after her visit with 8-way team Bra Bok XP at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025. She had enough time to follow the XP Angels performance on the 4-way Women leaderboard at Skydive Teuge, even though the 10.8 average does not reflect the currently expected scoring level. However, in reverse, there is no information available to define the expected TNT performance at all. Neither the team members nor coach Niklas Hemlin released any scoring details.
