posted Oct 21st, 2025 - The NSL News realized at the beginning of the year that the proportion between male and female competitors in the NSL Profiles was out of balance. It came to the surface with the publication of Jeana Billings' NSL Profile.

It did not take too long until Michelle Karamon followed her former Ranch 2nd Generation and XPG4 team mate with her own NSL Profile, and Jennifer Davidson was the third and last NSL Profile addition this year.

The NSL Profile balance is still out of proportion, as there are currently 31 male formation skydiving celebrities on the male side of the gender options, ten on the female side, even after the three previous 2025 additions of only female celebrities, and also after the latest and newest update with Vana Parker. This creates a balance with 76% of male NSL Profile stories, 24% of female. The NSL News effort of bringing the balance to an adequate proportion will have to continue in the near future.

Orientation and guidelines for NSL Profiles are not only the athletic accomplishments. There are enough examples on the list of published profile stories who are not only world champions in formation skydiving competition. The list is more out of proportion considering the participation in the sport.

The NSL News usually evaluates the gender proportion in the aftermath of the major events. The last one was posted with the NSL News update on September 27th, after the completion of the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 in the Netherlands.

The proportion numbers of the past years match each other quite well, despite certain tendencies, and they make at least the point that they are not represented well in the NSL Profiles. There is roughly a difference of 10% to the disadvantage of the female NSL Profiles in the sport, which will be considered in the near future until the balance matches the reality, specifically in formation skydiving competition.

The NSL News is at least five more female NSL Profiles short before the balance of the reality in the sport will be matched. However, the boys will not be ignored, and it will be a longer time frame that might eventually fix the balance adequately.

Jennifer Davidson, Michelle Karamon and Jeana Billings have joined Lise Aune, Arianna de Benedetti, Dawn English, Christy Frikken, Natasha Montgomery, Eliana Rodriguez on the NSL Profiles pages, and Vana Parker is the latest addition.

Several profile stories need updates, as some of the profiles were created long ago. However, balancing the gender proportion with the necessary addition of more female profiles in the near future will have priority for a little while. Suggestions of important and forgotten celebrities in the sport are very welcome, and the NSL News apologizes for unintended ignorance.
