Did You Know...

... that German team PACE GoJump Gransee have won three times in three different categories?

German AAA Class teams ready for Round 4
posted Sep 29th, 2025 - The competition for the two AAA Class medal positions behind Airbus Illertissen Oceanside at Germany's national outdoor championship was as exciting as the NSL News reported in the preview of the event on September 9th.

Three teams were expected to be in contention, and they confirmed the battle for medals in the four rounds that were completed at the event in the same order as the NSL Power Rankings indicated. The missing six rounds, including the Super Sequence in Round 8, would have probably continued this competition in a similar way. Pickup team Airmix, with the highly experienced 4-way and 8-way competitors, all of them former German champions and members of the national teams, and with Erik Lorenz on camera, probably needed more rounds together to get to the medal positions, which were taken by the better trained teams.

Dark NeVa, with former Meltemi member Petra Jastram filling the open slot for injured Henning Stumpp, confirmed the performance level of the past years, which was just enough to keep new outdoor team Fi4na in check at their first outdoor competition with the current lineup. The 3-point difference in Round 4 created the same final distance between silver and bronze. Round 4 was completed so late in the evening that the video cameras could barely present judgeable footage.

The competition was even closer behind the medal contenders. The three teams who completed the AAA Class field were separated by two points after the same four rounds. The Trögele family team Paranodon Future 6.9, with father Andreas, formerly videographer for the Airbus 4-way and 8-way teams, and his son Julius, delivered the most consistent performance on the AAA Class leaderboard to finish tied in 5th place. GIGA Fehrbellin eventually took this 5th place with the highest score for a round in this duel, the 12-pointer in Round 3.

Paranodon Future 6.9 had moved up into the AAA Class world this year, after winning AA Class silver medals at the German Outdoor Nationals 2024, ten points behind Devil's Dive. Both teams now posted scores on the AAA Class leaderboard, and Paranodon Future 6.9 were two points ahead after Round 4.

Devil's Dive had started in the A Class competition of 2019. Paranodon Future 6.9 launched their AAA Class journey with a 9.9 average after nine rounds at the Paranodon Cup 2025 in June with the same lineup. They crossed the 10+ benchmark well in Stadtlohn after the technically challenging four rounds. GIGA Fehrbellin have been familiar with the AAA Class dive pool since 2022, after three years in the AA Class. The new 2025 lineup finished with a slightly higher meet average than in 2024, despite the slow 4-round competition draw.

The situation on this year's AA Class leaderboard was similar to the one of the AAA Class competition. PACE GoJump Gransee dominated the 6-team field just as clearly as Airbus Oceanside Illertissen did in the AAA Class competition. They had created a 10-point lead after the four rounds with highscores for each round.

Pace members Laura Paxmann, Ivan Avguston and Tobias Reichstein accomplished a unique mission together in the last three years. They won the national outdoor championship in the RRR Class of 2023 with 4th member Hans-Ulrich Lerch. Then they followed up a year later with the 1st place in the A Class with the current lineup. The 1st place in the AA Class is the third consecutive German 4-way title in a different category. PACE GoJump Gransee now have to make the final move and join the AAA Class world next year.

National 4-way Open Class team Airbus Oceanside Illertissen are too far away for any other German 4-way team. However, the other medal positions behind Airbus could become a goal for this year's AA Class winner. Coach Holger Sass, former member of national 4-way champion team AtomiX, is working with the team from Berlin. He competed with Air Mix in 4-way and was a member of the Airbus 8-way team in 2023 and 2024.
