Did You Know...

... that Thyra member Vilde Hansen started jumping from planes this year?

posted Aug 17th, 2025 - Norway's national team in 4-way Women, Thyra, posted their first scores at the national indoor championship in 2022, where former 4-way Junior team VossVind Girls put pressure on Norway's national team in 4-way Open, Agera. It still took a few months until Thyra caught the attention of the NSL News after Norway's national outdoor championship the same year.

The NSL News update on 15 August 2022 eventually introduced at least original and current member Christiane Wilhelmine Sorfjord Tuv, daughter of DeLand Norgies original member Carl-Erik Tuv. She and her Thyra team mate until last year, Camilla Marnor, were members of the FS 2020 project that Carl-Erik Tuv had launched to bring Norway back to higher levels in Formation Skydiving competition.

Christiane Wilhelmine Sorfjord Tuv and Camilla Marnor continued with a new Thyra lineup in 2023 (Silvana Disch, Alice Solberg) and won European FAI bronze medals at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023. The same lineup made plans for Shamrock Showdown 2024 and the FAI Outdoor World Championship. The first NSL Live Talk with the complete 2024 lineup and coach Carl-Erik Tuv was finally recorded on 22 March 2024 in DeLand. Thyra had bad luck before the outdoor world championship in October 2024, as the NSL News reported on 4 October 2024. Youngest Thyra member Silvana Disch could not make it to Crystal Coast, and Ditta Valsdottir was fortunately available to fill the slot.

Vilde Hansen with VossVind Girls in 2016
Silvana Disch had enough time last winter to recover and committed to the 2025 season, together with original Thyra member Christiane Wilhelmine Sørfjord Tuv. They invited Anna Fasting and Vilde Hansen for the new lineup and eventually signed up for the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025, the major outdoor competition this year.

There was still one obstacle that had to be taken care of. The NSL News mentioned on July 10th that Anna Fasting and Vilde Hansen had joined the team. Anna Fasting has been training and competing with different 4-way teams in the past 15 years, while Vilde Hansen had not jumped from planes yet at the beginning of 2025.

The NSL News reported on August 11th that Vilde Hansen was a former member of the Norwegian VossVind Girls, who started as a 4-way junior team in the A Class of the World Challenge 2015. Vilde Hansen joined the team in 2016 and competed with the VossVind Girls at the FAI Indoor World Cup the same year. VossVind Girls eventually turned into a very young 4-way Women team by age and competed for Norway at the FAI European Indoor Championship 2018.

VossVind Girls at the World Challenge 2015 and at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2019
Vilde Hansen with VossVind Girls in 2019
Vilde Hansen trained and competed with the VossVind Girls until they discontinued after challenging Norway's 4-way Open Class team Agera in February 2022. Her 4-way experiences also included the FAI Indoor World Championship 2019 at Weembi Lille.

Former 4-way Junior and 4-way Women indoor competitor Vilde Hansen got the obstacle out of the way quickly. She made her first skydives in May this year and got her Norwegian A-license in June. She has her FAI license by now and 150 jumps behind her. The new Thyra lineup is probably the youngest one in the history of the 4-way Women event.

The first outdoor scores for Thyra with the new lineup instantly matched the previous 13.8 team record average. Christiane Wilhelmine Sørfjord Tuv (Outside Center) and Silvana Disch (Inside Center) continue to work the center for Thyra, while Anna Fasting (Point) and Vilde Hansen (Tail) are in the slots they know best. Dennis Barstad is once again on camera for Thyra. The additional information from Norway changed the NSL Power Rankings in 4-way Women, where Thyra is now the top contender for the FAI silver medals. There is probably no doubt that a new team record average can be expected at the upcoming outdoor world cup.
