Did You Know...

... that six national teams of 2024 are back at Skydive Teuge?

4-way AAA/Open Class awards in Voss 2023
posted Jul 9th, 2025 - Nine countries were represented in 4-way AAA/Open at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2024 in North Carolina and have also registered teams for the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2025 in Teuge, Netherlands. Six of the national teams in 2024 are the same who competed at Crystal Coast last year.

The newly adjusted NSL Power Rankings consider the fact that these six national teams bring their international competition experiences into the next 4-way game, and they are now in the top positions behind the medal rankings. All six teams were inside of the Top 10 positions at the outdoor world championship, and they will most likely repeat their contention for the 4th place in Teuge.

The medal contenders are probably reduced from four countries to three, with Aethers and NMP PCH HayaBusa in improved positions. The Qatar delegation is not traveling to Europe with Qatar Tigers in the 4-way AAA/Open Class competition, bronze medalists of 2024. The Lions, new national 4-way team, are not ready yet to copy the success of the Tigers, and NMP PCH HayaBusa will most likely move back up into a medal position after the 4th place at Crystal Coast. The Belgians are probably planning to challenge the Golden Knights for the 2nd place, who take Arizona Airspeed's position in the U.S. delegation. They placed 3rd already at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025, and the 4th place for Belgium at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2024 will be forgotten soon in the near future.

Aethers Medjay - NMP PCH HayaBusa at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025
4-way AAA/Open Class awards at Crystal Coast 2024
Aethers are in a similar situation as NMP PCH HayaBusa, as they have left the events outside of the medal positions behind. They moved up to the top position in the 4-way world with the gold medals at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025 and the convincing start into the outdoor season at the Shamrock Showdown 2025.

United States and Qatar are the only two countries with different Top 10 contenders in their delegations for the outdoor world cup. Golden Knights and Qatar Lions did not represent their countries at Crystal Coast last year. The current Golden Knights 4-way lineup are launching their international FAI career at the outdoor world cup in Teuge, even though they have collected FAI event experiences as members of the GKXP8 lineup, in Norway 2023 and Paraclete XP 2024.

The Qatar Lions with different lineups were on the 4-way leaderboard in Norway and competed at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024, then represented Qatar at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025. The new and current lineup can be expected to challenge the other contenders for the 4th place, as coach Gary Smith confirmed in the last NSL Live Talk conversation. They already outscored Echochamber (SE), Papea (ES) and Out Of The Blue (NL) at the indoor world championship in April.

Aethers Medjay - Golden Knights at the Shamrock Showdown 2025
4th Place at Crystal Coast 2024: Echochamber (SE)
However, the same three contenders for the 4th place and the world's unofficial amateur top spot will be ready to defend their positions at the outdoor competition with exits from Cessna Caravan and subterminal pages. Agera from Norway will also try to fend off Qatar's new national team in 4-way AAA/Open.

The next group of four teams (SDC Rhythm XP, XPG4, Qatar Cheetahs, Skywalkers Junior) have the same intentions with aiming at the same 4th place behind the medal positions, or at least a spot in the Top 10. There are only seven slots for the nine teams who are expected to make the Top 10.

All nine teams seem to have the potential to be contenders for the valuable 4th place and the Top 10, while the first group of teams (Echochamber, Agera, Out Of The Blue, Papea, Qatar Lions) may have an advantage with their international meet experiences. The two U.S. teams in this group (SDC Rhythm XP, XPG4) and RhEvolution XP also compete in 8-way at the same event in Teuge. Qatar Lions and Skywalkers Junior focus only on their ten competition rounds in 4-way AAA/Open. The British delegation is represented by the British Army's Volt4ge lineup and Axis, after Apex finished in 8th place at the outdoor world championship last year.
