There were still two more teams at Paraclete XP who competed in the AA/Intermediate Class, and they were just as competitive in their duel as the AAA Class teams were. Unfortunately, this duel lasted only for the first four rounds, as one of the Brazilian team members injured his shoulder during the exit of Round 5, and the team had to withdraw.
All Brazilian team members had participated in the South American 104-way record that was successfully completed on Friday before Round 1 of the XP Summer Classic, including Arizona Airspeed's new outside center's brother Anderson de Vargas. They were hungry for more jumps from the Twin Otter after the big-way and signed up their lineup for the 4-way competition. Brazil had a very competitive duel with U.S. 4-way team Intravenous from Skydive Danielson, as the difference between the scores of the two teams was never more than one point throughout the first four rounds until Brazil had to withdraw. In fact, the Brazilian pickup team was two points ahead of SDD Intravenous, and the third duel of the competition promised another exciting race.

The team from New England was not new to 4-way competition at all at the XP Summer Classic. They had visited Paraclete XP in February for the national indoor championship, where they won the A Class gold medals with a 19.8 average. They had already posted a 20.9 average a few weeks earlier at the SkyVenture New Hampshire where they won the A Class competition, as well.
The recruited Kathy-Ann Cadogan for the point slot after the national indoor championship and decided to move up and take on the AA Class dive pool. The outdoor starting point with an 8.4 average in the AA Class would almost guarantee a USPA gold medal in the A/Beginner Class at this year's national outdoor championship, and they skipped the opportunity. Last year's winner at the USPA Nationals, CSC Singularity, had won the title in this category with an 8.2 average. The 8.4 in the AA Class at the XP Summer Classic could actually set up SDD Intravenous on the road to potential medal contention even in the AA/Intermediate Class at Skydive Arizona in October. Any 2-digit meet average at the USPA Nationals usually means that a team could be a medal contender. SDD Intravenous agreed to explain more of the team's young 4-way history in a new NSL Live Talk conversation after the completion of all ten rounds on Sunday.
