Did You Know...

... that Prime 4-way outscored the Netunos 4-way team in Brazil?

posted Jun 9th, 2025 - The NSL News had covered the busy competition schedule of the Brazilian Netunos delegation with the update on May 26th. It was the Shamrock Showdown 2025 that concluded the Netunos visits in the United States.

They had started with the 8-way competition at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2025 at the end of February and were back at the same place seven weeks later, this time for the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025 where they competed in 4-way and in 8-way.

They staid in North America and traveled south from North Carolina to Florida to post their first 8-way outdoor scores of the year at Skydive DeLand. Then the Netunos went home to Brazil again, where it did not take too long until the 4-way lineup was back in action. The 12-foot flying chamber in Sao Paulo could not accommodate a young 8-way junior team, and even the 4-way dive pool for the events of the Brazil Tunnel League has to be limited. The indoor competitions are complete after eight rounds, due to the reduced number of blocks.

Prime 4-way - Netunos 4 at the Brazilian Tunnel League in April

The Netunos 4-way team completed their previous ten rounds of the indoor world meet in the 16-foot flying chamber of Paraclete XP, where the four team members also competed in 8-way. However, the Netunos 4-way team actually increased their average from 20.3 at Paraclete XP to 21.5 in Sao Paulo, which was still not enough to win the competition.

One of their 8-way team mates, Pedro Ushizima, re-joined forces with his 4-way team, Prime 4-way. He has been competing in 4-way with Fabiano José da Silva Florio, Mileide Cristiane Leite Ferreira and George Narita since 2023.

Netunos had outscored Prime 4-way with Pedro Ushizima at the three previous indoor meets, including the national indoor championships. The competition last month was the first time since December 2023 that Prime 4-way finished ahead of the Netunos 4-way lineup. New Arizona Airspeed member Alisson de Vargas used to compete for the Netunos until April 2024, and his slot was not easy to fill. Pedro Ushizima is an original member of CTR Optimum (2005 - 2008) and the Prime 4-way team, and he joined the Netunos only for 8-way training and competition. He was also in the Netunos lineup who competed for Brazil at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2024
