posted May 26th, 2025 - The Netunos from Brazil had a very busy travel agenda in the first four months of the year, even more so with the 8-way team. The Netunos 4-way team is a part of the 8-way team, who represent the Brazilian Navy in formation skydiving competition.

Only the 8-way lineup competed as a guest team at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2025, and the NSL News covered the 8-way duel between Netunos and Team Canada with the update on 12 January 2025. Brazil's 8-way history goes much farther back and began in 1987 when the country hosted the FAI Outdoor World Championship at Foz do Iguacu, with a free view of one of the world's largest waterfalls on each competition load.

Netunos 8-way member Pedro Ushizima Junior goes even at least as far back as to the outdoor world championship in Spain 2001, and he was also in a new lineup in Dubai 2012, then again in Australia 2018. No Brazilian 8-way team traveled to Tanay in 2021 or Eloy in 2022, and the Netunos, once again with Pedro Ushizima Junior in the lineup, brought Brazil back onto the 8-way leaderboard at the 26th FAI World Formation Skydiving Championships at Crystal Coast last year. The Netunos 4-way team, now without new Airspeed member Alisson de Vargas, competed in 4-way at Crystal Coast, as well.

Netunos 8 at the Shamrock Showdown 2025

The Netunos were back in full 4-way and 8-way force at Paraclete XP seven weeks after their first visit at the end of February. The 4-way team had double duties, as the story of the duel with Team Canada reported. The 8-way lineup finished with a significantly higher meet average compared to the 8-way competition in February and did not allow Team Canada to get anywhere close at the indoor world championship, even though Canada stole two of the rounds with higher scores.

Their former 4-way team mate and player-coach Alisson de Vargas competed for his new team at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2025, where the Netunos 4-way lineup competed only in 8-way. Arizona Airspeed then had to replace their newest member with Niklas Hemlin to be eligible, when the Netunos were back in 4-way action at Paraclete XP in April.

The journey to North America was not over for the Brazilian delegation after Round 10 of the indoor world championship. They were one of the teams who used the opportunity to switch straight to the beginning of the outdoor season at the Shamrock Showdown 2025. This time, Alisson de Vargas was back in 4-way action with the complete new Airspeed lineup at Skydive DeLand, while the Netunos competed only in 8-way. The 4-way lineup had their turn again as soon as they were back in Brazil, where the next indoor meet of Brazil's Tunnel League brought the country's 4-way teams back together in Sao Paulo.
