posted May 5th, 2025 - The NSL News is slowly catching up with events of the Indoor Cloud League. Especially the Czech indoor winter season is very busy, mainly at the Hurricane Factory in Prague, which has been the breeding ground for Jan Klapka's 4-way juniors.

It is no secret any longer that the first generation of the Czech 4-way juniors have successfully made it to the highest 4-way performance level in open 4-way competition. The NSL News has covered the Czech national indoor and outdoor team, Skywalkers Junior, comprehensively for years, with the latest update on May 3rd.

Their playground in Prague's 14-foot flying chamber attracted the team earlier this year regularly to events of the Czech Tunnel League and the Indoor Cloud League. At the same time, Skywalkers Junior were preparing themselves for their first showing in senior 4-way Open at a world championship. They still take the time and make the efforts to share the Hurricane Factory with new Czech 4-way juniors who see them now as their role models. The new and youngest 4-way competitors meet with the Skywalkers Junior members at least twice per month and perform either the ten rounds of the Czech Tunnel League or any of the six Indoor Cloud League sequences.

There are currently four junior teams who make their way from the beginner level (R Class) to the AAA Class sequences after mastering the basic skills and advancing to 4-way training. Three of the current 4-way junior teams (Helikopters, Sharks, Fenix) are already performing the AAA Class sequences without slot-switching blocks, which are running under the AA Class at Indoor Cloud League events. AAA and AA sequences both could be drawn at a 4-way Open Class competition.

They still compete in lower categories at the monthly 10-round competitions of the Czech Tunnel League. However, they learn the basics of 4-way competition and the progression to the AAA Class 6-point sequences with slot-switching blocks at the regular indoor training at Jan Klapka's 4-way school and at the Indoor Cloud League events.

The results of Jan Klapka's work at the Hurricane Factory became finally more than obvious and tangible with the performance of Skywalkers Junior at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025 in April. The complete lineup of Skywalkers Junior was not available in March/April, and 5th team member Michal Mikolasek had his next opportunity to share the flying chamber with his team mates of many years. He was also present at Paraclete XP, ready to step in as the alternate if needed. He and team videographer Jakub Klapka, formerly tail of HF Flying Circus, replaced Filip Lukavec and Martin Stransky for the March/April performance of the AAA/AA sequences.
