Did You Know...

... that there is plenty of cross-attention between Europe, America and China?

Spaceland Toxic at USPA Nationals 2023
posted Apr 18th, 2024 - While the best 4-way teams in the world follow up with four more rounds on Friday in China, recreational teams in Florida and Texas are getting ready for their upcoming outdoor events. The FAI Indoor World Cup 2024 will be concluded with the last two rounds on Saturday, the same day when teams and competitors at the two regional outdoor meets of the NSL 4-way Network jump from planes and use the synchronized NSL competition draw for the weekend.

The conclusion of the Czech Tunnel League's winter season this week had to take place without the currently strongest Czech 4-way team, Crazy Dragons, who are currently in 9th place on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard after Round 4 in China.

Texas Skydiving League Director Scott Latinis is opening the TSL 2024 season with the Spaceland San Marcos Showdown this weekend, while the teams in Florida visit Skydive Sebastian for their third meet this year. Scott Latinis will be in 4-way action himself, as he is substituting the outside center slot for Spaceland Toxic, AA/Intermediate Class silver medalists at the USPA Nationals 2023. Shamrock Showdown 2024 opponents Arizona Airspeed and Aethers are currently confirming their 4-way top positions in the indoor world, as well, the French national team in 4-way Open with Nephtys member Pamela Lissajoiux filling in for Tom Mattoni and Mathieu Bernier. There were also Shamrock Showdown opponents in the A Class who will have an outdoor rematch this weekend in Sebastian.

Waitin' On A Woman - AirGo at the Shamrock Showdown 2024
From DeLand to China: Jim Rees at the Shamrock Showdown
AirGo and Waitin' On A Woman had a much closer battle in the A Class than any other teams at the same event, and Arizona Airspeed currently have a 9-point lead over Aethers in China, after the 43-point difference after ten rounds at Skydive DeLand. AirGo and Waitin' On A Woman were tied after the six rounds that both teams completed.

Chief Judge Jim Rees had to break the tie, as Skydive DeLand sponsored the winner in this category with a cash prize of $200, as well. Waitin' On A Woman posted the highest score of the A Class competition with the 6-pointer in Round 6 and was declared the official A Class winner. AirGo tied the highest score in their Round 7, which did not count for the A Class duel.

AirGo and Waitin' On A Woman will get six new A Class sequences this Saturday, and a few more teams plan to join the competitive duel at Skydive Sebastian.

Most of the attention to the events on the same Saturday this week will be paid from the United States towards China, and little, if any, in the reverse direction. The Czech teams and competitors are free after their competition on Wednesday and will probably follow the Crazy Dragons throughout the whole indoor competition in China.
