Did You Know...

... that the ICL Midwest team had an interesting lineup in October?

ICL Midwest team in October
posted Nov 5th, 2022 - Things are in motion in the Midwest Skydiving League region. SDC Rhythm XP members Keith Conner and Chris Webb recently announced the MWSL 2023 schedule, which will once again include 4-way meets at the three major 4-way locations in the Midwest.

Skydive Midwest is one of the MWSL hosts, and SDMW NEXT has been one of the rising 4-way team projects in the United States. NEXT team members also launched the ICL Midwest team for the Indoor Cloud League and have become one of the strong players generating new 4-way participants regularly.

Lauren Byrd has been managing and player-coaching the Indoor Cloud League team activities, Megan George, Greg Oldendick and Gorka Amian were once again player-coaching the ICL participants who joined the ICL Midwest team for the October event.

CSC Constellation represented the third host of the Midwest Skydiving League's outdoor events last month at the indoor event, Chicagoland Skydiving Center. The Constellation 2022 lineup was a part of the NSL News update that covered the progress of the teams who had started in the A Class competition of the USPA Nationals 2021. CSC Constellation joined the ICL Midwest team and posted the scores for the two Intermediate Class sequences (AA/A).

The September update of the ICL Midwest team pointed out that Katie Healy had a very busy event where she was performing several of the six sequences, including the two USPA Open/Advanced Class sequences (AAA/AA). NEXT member Gorka Amina was her team mate in these lineups.

She was familiar with the AAA Class dive pool that she has trained for a while, and she competed with a pickup team (4s of NotSure) in the Advanced Class of the USPA Nationals this year, after her time with SDC Rheology in 2021.

Katie Healy was back in the ICL Midwest October team, and she is now also making the last step to the top level of 4-way competition in the United States. Skydive Midwest NEXT members Lauren Byrd and Megan George stepped back after the USPA Nationals 2022, and Greg Oldendick and Gorka Amian have recruited two new team mates, Katie Healy and Brian Nasset.

Paraclete XP8 world champion videographer Elliot Byrd has to be replaced, as well, and the NEXT camera slot is still open at this point in time. The NSL News will follow up soon with the change in the NEXT lineup.
