posted Apr 9th, 2022 - The FAI Indoor World Cup 2022 is complete, and the judges are working on the only missing scores for Round 10 in 4-way Open.

As expected, nothing changed in the medal positions due to the slower nature and lack of opportunity of the last two rounds. The NSL News pointed out the situation around the Top 10 ranking positions yesterday, and this drama lived up to the expectations.

However, there was another interesting and competitive situation in the medal positions. The FAI Indoor World Cup includes the official FAI European Championship, where only one national team is eligible for any medal position.

Aerokart Ak'demie won the gold medals for France, NMP PCH HayaBusa silver for Belgium. There was a close race for the bronze medals between HF Flying Circus and British team Meraki. The Czech team had created a 4-point lead after Round 9, and Jan Klapka's Czech delegation will most likely collect even a medal in 4-way Open, after World Cup and European gold in 4-way Women and in 4-way Junior. That makes the Czech Republic the most successful nation in horizontal Formation Skydiving competition this year.

The drama for the last Top 10 spot continued in Round 9. Black Mantis and INIT-Y fell out of contention after the slow and challenging 3-block sequence, which included two slot switching blocks and invited different engineering options.

Three teams were left for the two Top 10 spots in 9th and 10th place, Out Of The Blue (218), Echochamber Oceanside (218), and SDC Rhythm XP (217). The U.S. team needed a great Round 10 to move up and push one of the other two European teams out of the Top 10.

The sequence of Round 10 had the potential for mistakes and infringements, even though there was no room for creative engineering. The judges are at work, and the scores will be posted soon.

The NSL News was providing commentary for the live streaming session in Round 10, and the details of the action will be posted later. The live impressions indicated that HF Flying Circus defended the European bronze medal position successfully, while the outcome of the Top 10 battle was open.
