NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that Anna Brunner leaves Kaos Theory XP for XPG4?

posted Jan 21st, 2022 - Kaos Theory XP, Intermediate Class winner of the USPA Nationals 2021, has recently been in the NSL News headlines for other reasons, as well. The selection of the new SDC Rhythm XP lineup connected Kaos members with the topic.

The update on 4 December 2021 introduced the first three new Rhythm members, including Kaos videographer Charlie McGee, who continues on camera for SDC Rhythm XP. A month later, the NSL News connected more dots of former Kaos Theory and future Rhythm members.

Finally, Kaos Theory's outside center Carl Kallgren was selected for the new Rhythm lineup, as well, as the NSL News reported earlier this week. Carl Kallgren's Rhythm story ended the complete selection of the new lineup, as Doug Barron now has his three new team mates for the active lineup, with Charlie McGee on camera.

Carl Kallgren was the last move in the development of the Rhythm selection, while it was not the end of the Kaos Theory XP story. There was another open slot in one of the U.S. top teams when original XPG4 member Morgan Womble could not continue this year.

Morgan Womble was in the first XPG4 lineup who won the bronze medals in 4-way Women at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019. She and Katrina Autry Shows did not continue after the successful 2019 season. Jeana Billings and Michelle Karamon rebuilt the team with new members Tamara Bartlett and Irina Meshcheryakova in 2020.

Morgan Womble came back when Tamara Bartlett did not return to XPG4 after the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2020. She completed the 2020 season and also continued when Brenn Richards joined the team to replace Irina Meshcheryakova in 2021.

The XPG4 lineup of 2021 won the qualification as the U.S. national team in 4-way Women for 2022, first at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2021, then at the USPA Nationals 2021.

The 2022 season, with the FAI Indoor World Cup in April and the FAI Outdoor World Meet in October, would require a very strong commitment for all team members, and Morgan Womble had to step back.

This situation started the next chapter of the Kaos Theory XP story, as original team member Anna Brunner was one of the four candidates for the open XPG4 slots. The tryouts began with an indoor weekend at Paraclete XP at the beginning of January and were completed last weekend with jumps from planes at Skydive Arizona.

Three candidates continued with the outdoor tryouts and had each one day of training with Jeana Billings, Michelle Karamon, Brenn Richards and videographer Andres Mesa. Anna Brunner was eventually selected for the new XPG4 lineup and leaves Kaos Theory XP with only two team members left of the 2021 lineup.

Anna Brunner was inside center for Kaos Theory XP, and XPG4 decided to offer her the same slot in the transition from AA/Intermediate Class training and competition to the complete AAA Class dive pool. This team decision required Michelle Karamon to switch from inside center to the point slot, which is new to her.

Jeana Billings (outside center) and Michelle Karamon are the new XPG4 front piece, and the young rear piece will try to keep up with the new combination of the two 8-way world champions. Jeana Billings and Michelle Karamon will be facing another very busy 4-way and 8-way season, as the XP8 lineup will try to defend their world championship title this year.
