Did You Know...

... that Aviatrixx and XPG4 will face each other outdoors for the first time?

Aviatrixx at the USPA Nationals 2019
posted Oct 24th, 2021 - The 4-way Women competition and the qualification for the next FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving have always been a part of the 4-way Open Class competition at USPA Nationals, and it will be the same at this year's event.

The situation in this category is very similar compared to the 4-way Open Class, where it is expected that a different team will compete for the U.S. delegation at next year's world meet in Eloy. SDC Rhythm XP competed in 4-way Open at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020, Aviatrixx in 4-way Women.

Yesterday's preview pointed out that Arizona Airspeed seems to be the top contender to win the 4-way Open Class on their home turf, and Aviatrixx will probably also be facing a very strong contender.

XPG4's lineup includes two brand-new 8-way world champions, Jeana Billings and Michelle Karamon, and they are also very well trained in 4-way with their current lineup. XPG4, with Morgan Womble and Brenn Richards, have trained together as much as possible after the 8-way commitment since Brenn Richards joined XPG4 at the beginning of the year.

The two currently strongest U.S. teams in 4-way Women will compete with and against each other for the first time at an outdoor competition in Eloy. They have never met yet at a skydiving center since XPG4 launched the 4-way Women team in February 2019.

Aviatrixx started even later in 2019, and the new team attended the USPA Nationals 2019 in 4-way Open, where Jeana Billings and Michelle Karamon still competed with Ranch 2nd Generation (R2G). Aviatrixx won the 4-way Women duel over Perris Force by eight points (150 - 142) and qualified as the U.S. national team in 4-way Women. Perris Force still had Christy Frikken in their lineup by then.

The new XPG4 lineup and Aviatrixx know each other from indoor events, where they met each other at Paraclete XP in February 2020 and then again at this year's event. XPG4 won this internal 4-way Women duel both times, first with Tamara Bartlett and Irina Meshcheryakova in the lineup (215 - 201), then early this year with original member Morgan Womble and Brenn Richards (227 - 183).

Both teams and their members have been focused on outdoor competition this year, Aviatrixx in preparation for the world meet experience in Tanay, XPG4's Jeana Billings and Michelle Karamon for their 8-way competition with Airspeed XP8 at the same event.

However, Jeana Billings and Morgan Womble still managed to keep Paraclete XP's Indoor Cloud League team in motion, and they posted complete sets of six monthly scores and videos between January and June. It became too busy in the months leading up to the outdoor world meet and then the preparations for the USPA Nationals (July - September), and the Paraclete XP team took an ICL summer break.

The month of October was the last month before the upcoming national championships, and they still guided a group of indoor competitors as player-coaches through the October sequences, together with their XPG4 team mate Brenn Richards.

Kaos Theory members Anna Brunner and Jason McClure took the ICL October opportunity to get ready for their own team's visit in Arizona. They are the reigning U.S. indoor champions in the AA/Intermediate Class, and Kaos Theory are probably the main contender for this year's USPA outdoor medals.
