Did You Know...

... that the Monaco Parachute Team is back for outdoor training and competition?

Monaco Parachute Team in 2005
posted Sep 24th, 2021 - It was in August 2015 when the Monaco Parachute Team attended their last outdoor competition. It was the French national championship, where the Monaco members have been competing since they started skydiving. The NSL News had introduced the Monaco team project with an overview on 18 May 2007.

Two of the original ream members, Jeff Ronzevalle and Didier Boignon, were former French national champions and competed for France at several world meets and world cups. They were not done yet with 4-way and 8-way competition and finally formed the Monaco Parachute Team, with some support by the constitutional monarchy of the sovereign city-state in the southern middle of France.

The French national team in 4-way Women, the French Girls, still competed with 2014 world champions Christine Malnis and Sophia Pecout, and Clementine Le Bohec was in her first year with the team, together with videographer Michel Laynaud. Anais Maillet completed the 2015 lineup before Pamela Lissajoux replaced her later the same year.

Pamela Lissajoux was still training and competing with the B-team Artemis Espoir Saumur, together with national coach Mathieu Bernier and current 8-way member Aurelien Lemaire. Christine Malnis and Sophia Pecout (4-way Women and 8-way), Pamela Lissajoux (4-way Women), Aurelien Lemaire and Mathieu Bernier (8-way Open) all won silver medals at the FAI Tanay Mondial 2020 last month.

Monaco Parachute Team's last outdoor competition in 2015
Monaco's lineup was very different in 2015, as well, and still included the former team mates in the French national 8-way team, Didier Boignon, Jeff Ronzevalle and Franck Vazille. Stephane Mattoni completed the lineup, and Claude Ferraro was filming the Monaco team.

They attended as many international events together as they could, and they were even eligible as Monaco's national 4-way team at the FAI Dubai Mondial 2012.

Monaco's outdoor career came to an end in August 2015, while Jeff Ronzevalle and Stephane Mattoni continued with indoor training and competition in a new lineup.

Monaco's indoor lineups were flexible, too, and Franck Vazille eventually re-joined the team. His son Valentin had joined 4-way competition in one of the Aerokart Ak'demie lineups. Stephane Mattoni's son Tom started with the same French 4-way junior project and now outscored his father's team at this year's French Outdoor Nationals.

Former Aerokart Ak'demie member Kylian Forsans was in the Monaco lineup between November 2017 and April 2019. Franck Vazille's son Valentin then replaced him and trained and competed together with his father.

Monaco Parachute Team's outdoor comeback at the French Nationals 2021
The Vazille family stepped back when son Valentin began with outdoor training at the AFF level. However, it did not stop Jeff Ronzevalle and Stephane Mattoni from building a new lineup. This time, they wanted to go back to outdoor training and competition and recruited two new members, Marion Baggio and Arnaud Morey.

Both were already well known in the skydiving community, especially in the big-way world, as they have participated at several national and international record attempts. Jeff Ronzevalle said that they joined the Monaco Parachute Team with little experience in Formation Skydiving competition, Arnaud Morey only with indoor and outdoor training in the AA Class, Marion Baggio only with indoor 8-way experiences.

Jeff Ronzevalle and Stephane Mattoni plan to build and develop the new lineup together with the "Monaco Spirit". They have already completed a few hours of indoor training at Aerokart Paris and did their first jumps in Avignon-Pujaut before the national championships. Gilles Lambart has been on camera for the Monaco team.

The first outdoor season of the new lineup was over after the national outdoor championship, and Monaco will now transition back to indoor competition. They plan to participate in as many events as they can in the winter season. The new lineup team is fully equipped with Aerodyne IconvV and ZuluX, Sonic Blazar jumpsuits and protected by G4 Cookie helmets and Vigil AAD.
