Did You Know...

... that AZ Compliance won the Skydiving Nationals 2.0?

Out Of The Blue in training over Texel, Netherlands
posted Sep 23rd, 2020 - The Skydiving Nationals 2.0 took place last weekend, while the NSL News visited Paraclete XP for the latest Airspeed XP8 training camp with Craig Girard, and featuring the indoor comeback of Matt Davidson.

Skydive Chicago organized an online competition that applied the same format that the National Skydiving League network has been using for many years. Teams could use the same competition draw at several different locations and compare their scores on a shared leaderboard.

The event offered the traditional USPA 4-way categories (4-way Open, 4-way Advanced, 4-way Intermediate) and even added a new Rookie Class leaderboard, a category that the NSL has been offering for many years, as well. Only the NSL A Class was not a part of the weekend competition.

At the same time, NSL and InTime have been collecting videos for the NSL Cloud Mondial 2020, which makes the logistics even easier for the participating teams across the planet, in the times of the worldwide corona virus crisis. The current leaderboard is showing the teams who have already submitted the videos at this point in time. InTime will take care of processing and judging, scores and videos will be posted after the deadline has passed on October 23rd. The national 4-way teams from Belgium (NMP PCH HayaBusa) and the Netherlands (Out of the Blue) and Paranodon Futura 3 from Germany already make it a colorful international leaderboard already by now. Ayro from Belgium are the country's official national indoor champions.

Joey Marshall with AZ Compliance
The leaderboard of the NSL Cloud Mondial 2020 will be updated every time new videos will be submitted until October 23rd.

Arizona Airspeed and SDC Rhythm XP could not be part of last weekend's competition, while they are planning to have their scores and videos on the international leaderboard in October. Then they will follow up with a live competition at Skydive Arizona in November (20 - 22) that the NSL News will cover live from Eloy.

Arizona Airspeed members Niklas Hemlin and Mikhail Markine could not compete in 4-way last weekend, as they had Airspeed XP8 training in their calendars. That opened up the opportunity for Airspeed members Joey Marshall, Christopher Kuhlmann and videographer Taylor Buffington to be a part of the Nationals 2.0 event.

Joey Marshall accepted a player-coach slot with AZ Compliance and guided the team to the 1st place on the 4-way Advanced Class leaderboard, with Taylor Buffington on camera. They also outscored Aviatrixx, winner of the 4-way Open Class competition, and took the first place on the combined AAA Class leaderboard.

U.S. national team in 4-way Women: Aviatrixx at the USPA Nationals 2019
Aviatrix competed with the same lineup that won the 4-way Women qualification at the USPA Nationals 2019 over Perris Force, who had new SDC Rhythm XP member Christy Frikken in their lineup. Aviatrixx are the U.S. national team in 4-way Women for the FAI Mondial 2020 next year in Tanay, Russia.

Aviatrixx had a different lineup at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2020, where former Spaceland Lite XP and XPG4 member Katrina Autry Shows competed for the team. Sandra van der Bilt has been back for the outdoor season and will travel to Russia with Aviatrixx next year.

The U.S. national team has been training roughly every three weeks after canceling some earlier camps due to the corona virus crisis. The logistics for the team training are still not easy, as the team members live in all four continental U.S. time zones.

Aviatrixx completed last weekend's ten rounds at Skydive Spaceland Houston, together with three other AA/Intermediate Class teams from Texas. The U.S. national team in 4-way Women will also try to add the eleven NSL Cloud Mondial 2020 rounds to the new 4-way Women leaderboard in October.
