Did You Know...

... that Just4Fun completed the 7th meet with the same lineup?

Vesa Vuorenkoski, Oscar Salonaho and Mathew Iles with Blackjack
posted Sep 17th, 2020 - The Finnish Tunnel League has made it through the 2020 season quite well, despite all restrictions and regulations that came with the corona virus crisis.

The January meet was completed before the pandemic became a topic. The next meet in March was still taking place, even though the Scandinavian countries, except Sweden, applied restrictions early and strictly. Finnish indoor competitors Mathew Iles and Vesa Vuorenkoski had explained the situation in Finland during the NSL Live Talk on April 8th.

A few teams still took a break throughout the summer season, and two of them (Sörkan Laskuvajourheij, Hermannin Nuorisoseura) were back for the indoor competition this month. Just4Fun and 4K have not missed any of the four meets this year.

Sörkan Laskuvajourheij were still competing in the AA Class in January, after joining the Finnish Tunnel League on the AAA Class leaderboard in March 2019 and then switching to AA Class competition. Blue Steel member Mathew Iles was filling an open slot, as his own team did not attend the meet. His guidance made it easier for Pirre Löfgren, Susanna Raulio and Tony Nyholm to go back to the AAA Class dive pool, and Sörkan Laskuvajourheij finished an average point higher than last year.

Just4Fun was still out of reach for Sörkan Laskuvajourheij on the AAA Class leaderboard. Blue Steel was not present this time for the regular duel on the top and behind the Pro Team whenever the best Finnish 4-way team makes the long trip to Helsinki.

The Just4Fun lineup was exactly the same as in the previous six indoor meets since June 2019 when the team was working on breaking the 20+ average level consistently. Just4Fun now posted the third 21+ average, including the 22.4 in January this year.

Hermannin Nuorisoseura and 4K were back in the AA Class for their next duel. They have battled six times on the same leaderboards, once in the A Class competition of the January meet last year, five times in the AA Class. Hermannin Nuorisoseura have won four times, 4K two times. Hermannin Nuorisoseura's September lineup was the strongest one in the team's history. Former Tempo member Jorma Löfgren helped out again, together with former Blackjack member Oscar Salonaho. Both are experienced AAA Class competitors.

4K were back with a new team member, as well. Severi Keinänen, who has competed with Sirkus in the past, made his debut with 4K last week.
