Did You Know...

... that JaNette Lefkowitz and Drew Starr have a lot in common?

SDC Rhythm XP winter training in Sebastian
posted Jan 8th, 2020 - SDC Rhythm XP is training at Skydive Chicago in the summer and at Skydive Sebastian during the winter. Paraclete XP is the host for the team's indoor training. The NSL News, located in DeLand, Florida, has been using the Rhythm winter training as an opportunity to meet the team for several years.

The latest opportunity came up this week when Rhythm was back in Sebastian for outdoor training before traveling to Spain for the Wind Games at the end of the month.

It was the new lineup that was in training, with Golden Knights 8-way team captain Andrew Starr in his new slot for the reigning U.S. 4-way champion. JaNette Lefkowitz was present at the training camp, as she continues to manage the team affairs and the Rhythm business. She said that it is still a strange feeling to see the team jump without her.

The complete lineup, including JaNette Lefkowitz and team videographer Justin Wageman, took some extra time after a 14-jump day for a new NSL Live Talk interview at the drop zone.

Golden Knights 4-way Women team in 2016
The new lineup with Andrew Starr has created a unique situation in the history of U.S. Formation Skydiving competition. He is the first 8-way team captain of the Golden Knights who is competing with a civilian 4-way team at the same time.

However, he said that the U.S. Army command was in full support of his situation. He is still representing the United States and the Golden Knights in the U.S. delegation for the World Championship of Formation Skydiving, which was enough reason to find the support.

Related to the same topic, JaNette Lefkowitz mentioned that the situation was similar in the reverse order when she was helping out for the Golden Knights in 2016.

Angela Nichols did not continue for the Golden Knights 4-way Women team when she was planning to become a mother at the beginning of the 2016 season.

JaNette Lefkowitz was helping out until the FAI World Meet at Skydive Chicago, and the Golden Knights 4-way Women team won gold medals for the U.S. Army. JaNette Lefkowitz continued to train as much as possible with her own team in 2016 and competed with Rhythm at the USPA Nationals a month later.

Golden Knights 8-way team at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2019
It was possible for JaNette Lefkowitz to help out for the Golden Knights at the FAI World Meet 2016, as Arizona Airspeed was competing in 4-way Open for the U.S. delegation, even though she continued to train with SDC Rhythm XP, as well.

Andrew Starr is now in a similar situation. He will train as much as possible in 4-way and continue to prepare his 8-way lineup for the next events. One of them is the 8-way competition at the Shamrock Showdown 2020, where he will now have a very busy agenda, similar to double-duties at FAI/IPC events. He will switch back and forth between 4-way and 8-way on the meet days.

JaNette Lefkowitz will still train and compete with her team as long as her current situation allows her to do so. In fact, she will be back in her inside center slot at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship in February. That's when Andrew Starr will be competing with his own Golden Knights teams in 4-way and 8-way.

He will also be back with the Golden Knights after the outdoor world meet in August. The U.S. Army will be fielding 4-way teams at the national championships, as well, and both Rhythm inside centers will be opponents again at Skydive City in November.
