Did You Know...

... that Weembi Unicorns will compete with a new member at the Wind Games?

Thunder ISR at the Wind Games 2015
posted Jan 4th, 2020 - High-profile meets like World Challenge, Wind Games, Shamrock Showdown, ESL Championship offer teams an opportunity to compete side by side with the best national teams in the world, if they are not eligible for FAI/IPC events. Only national teams compete at the FAI world championships, while three additional teams per country can attend FAI world cups.

Even national championships are often regulated by FAI/IPC rules, and the meets are not always open for guest teams. Therefore, international lineups can only use the other mentioned events, where the rules usually don't have any limitations for the team members.

The Durch/Belgian combination in Thunder ISR's lineup was one of the most prominent examples, and the Weembi High Rollers were also not able to compete at FAI/IPC events before former HayaBusa world champion Roy Janssen was eventually sanctioned as a member of the French Formation Skydiving delegation.

The Wind Games is one of the events without restrictions for the lineups, and the upcoming 2020 edition features once again a few teams with international lineups.

1st place at the Weembinamic 2019: Weembi Unicorns
Weembi Unicorns is currently the most prominent team with an international lineup, and it is usually a French/Italian combination. Team founder Alessandra Rango took Bruno Perin, Livio Piccolo and Pietro Scabardi to the team's first Wind Games in 2018 and missed last year's event. However, other Weembi Unicorns combinations attended five other 4-way meets in 2019.

Julien Degen was in the lineup at each of the 2019 events, and he will be back with Alessandra Rango at the upcoming Wind Games. Clementine Le Bohec missed only one meet with the Unicorns since May 2018, and she is also back in the Wind Games lineup.

Her French national 4-way outdoor team does not compete at the Wind Games, and Pamela Lissajoux has the 4th slot for Nephtys Weembi. Clementine Le Bohec has a new opportunity with the Weembi Unicorns.

However, no other Unicorns of previous lineups are available for the Unicorns at the Wind Games, and Alessandra Rango recruited a new member, who is from Italy too. Federico Angelotti has been training and competing with eX3MO since August 2017, which was the last event where eX3MO defeated Amnesya.

Weembi Unicorns at the World Challenge 2019
Amnesya member Chiara Brunetti and her former team mate Michele Silvi are both on the Weembi Unicorn roster, as well. Chiara Brunetti recently competed together with Alessandra De Rango, Clementine Le Bohec and Julien Degen at the Weembinamic. New NMP PCH HayaBusa member Michele Silvi was in the Unicorns lineup at the World Challenge 2019 and then the Weembi 4-way Cup in May.

Federico Angelotti competed with eX3MO at the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2019. His Italian team has no plans for the Wind Games, and he will have his debut with the Wembi Unicorns instead. The lineup is once again a French/Italian 2-2 combination.

The most recent lineup consisted of three French members (Clementine Le Bohec, Julien Degen, Roy Janssen) with Alessandra Rango at the Belgian Indoor Nationals, where Weembi Unicorns won with a 27.2 average. The Belgian hosts had obviously allowed international guest teams to join the competition.

New member Federico Angelotti has a 27.7 indoor average with eX3MO in his records. A 27+ average was good enough for a 6th/7th place at the Wind Games last year...
