posted Jul 24th, 2019 - The AA Class teams created the biggest leaderboard of last weekend's events. All of the eight U.S. teams completed four rounds for the rankings on the adjusted leaderboard with the toal after Round 4.

Carolina Ice XP confirmed once again the position of a top contender for USPA medals at the national championships with the 12.0 winning average at Skydive Carolina, after the 12.5 at the May meet of the Carolina Skydiving League.

The NSL News had pointed out on May 21st, after the Carolina Ice XP performance in May, that a 13+ average will probably bring any team into the Intermediate Class medal range. The six rounds in May and the four rounds last weekend add up to a 12.3 average for a 10-round competition, which is the standard for the Intermediate Class competition at USPA Nationals.

In fact, Carolina Ice XP's ten rounds in May and July together included 13 of the 16 blocks in the dive pool for this category. Blocks 13 and 9 were drawn at both events. The combination of both draws included 12 of the 16 random formations, and only two (D and P) appeared on both leaderboards. The U.S. teams still had eight weeks after last weekend's events until Round 1 at the USPA Nationals.

SP Moderate Risk's 2018 lineup in DeLand
Florida Skydiving League team SP Moderate Risk completed the team's second meet in the AA Class with a new 7.8 team record average, after the 7.0 in May.

The team from Skydive Palatka attended three meets in the A Class last year and moved up at the beginning of the 2019 season. They had to switch back and forth between a PAC and a Skyvan for the exits last weekend at Skydive DeLand.

All eight A Class blocks were drawn in the total of eleven rounds at the two meets that SP Moderate Risk attended this year. The draw in May added four new AA Class blocks to the team's AA Class experience, and two more were in last weekend's draw for the first five rounds.

SP Moderate Risk still have not seen three of the 16 AA Class blocks yet at a competition. However, there are still two more FSL meet weekends scheduled in August and September with two more opportunities to execute the missing three blocks. SP Moderate Risk is planning to attend the NSL Championship in November at Skydive City.
