Did You Know...

... that three Airfource members could meet NMP PCH HayaBusa at an FAI world meet for the first time?

German CISM team with Betty Kabellar in Lake Wales
posted Mar 9th, 2019 - The author of the recent TURNING POINTS column for BLUE SKIES MAG used the German national 4-way team FSZ Saar Airbus as an example for different meet conditions for teams in 14-foot flying chambers. The French national team in 4-way Women was the opposite example for more available moving space.

All four members of the former French world champion lineup are currently in action at the French Indoor Nationals in three different teams, and the NSL News will go back to this event with more details very soon.

The new Airbus lineup will be tested at the German Indoor Nationals at the end of this month, where a new team is probably the favorite for winning the indoor championships, at least according to the prediction in the TURNING POINTS column. It's the German indoor team Airfource that surprised and impressed the 4-way indoor world with a 25.6 average as a guest team at the Belgian Indoor Nationals 2018.

Three of the team members (Elischa Weber, Stefan Wiesner, Christian Kautzmann) train and compete with the German military forces in several different disciplines. Elischa Weber is also a military world champion in the traditional style event. Fourth member Chris Schafer is a former German 4-way and 8-way champion with Airbus.

6000th jump for Elischa Weber
The German military forces of the "Sportgruppe Heer" recently held a training camp at the Florida Skydiving Center in Lake Wales. Two members of the CISM 4-way team, Elischa Weber and Stefan Wiesner, were training in the other military parachuting disciplines while waiting for their team mates in the CISM lineup, including third Airfource member Christian Kautzmann.

The NSL News used the opportunity for a visit in Lake Wales, where Betty Kabellar is still running the skydiving operation, with Billy Bradshaw in the rigging loft and shop. Both go back to the earliest days at the Zephyrhills and Phoenix Skydiving Center.

Elischa Weber and Stefan Wiesner were done with their military training when the NSL News visited, and they were getting ready for a fun jump to celebrate Elischa Weber's 6000th jump.

They took some time at the end of the day to talk about their military and civilian 4-way projects, which have included their regular competitions with NMP PCH HayaBusa, who are the reigning FAI 4-way indoor and outdoor world champions and the CISM world champions at the same time. There is a good chance that the three Germans soldiers will meet the Belgians for the first time at an FAI world championship, as well, if they win the German indoor qualification this month.
