Did You Know...

... that many Indoor Cloud League competitors from Texas competed at the USPA Nationals?

posted Nov 1st, 2016 - The U.S. teams of the Indoor Cloud League were in a similar situation as the Czech teams in October. The USPA Nationals 2016 had first priority, and several teams and competitors were unable to squeeze extra tunnel time into the tight schedule.

Deb Correia reported from iFLY Seattle that her event had to be held without any members of Seattle Swift who were in the final preparations for their top performance in the AA/Intermediate Class competition in Eloy.

However, she still had four strong lineups who combined for a total of 117 points, which is only three points short of the Hurricane Factory in October. Each lineup performed three different sequences to ensure the best scores for the ICL leaderboard, and the coaches (Dave Correia, Deb Correia, Bill Selig, Jeff Smith, Nancy McFadden) joined forces for the AAA/AA scores.

The Indoor Cloud League teams in Texas at iFLY Dallas and iFLY Houston were even significantly busier to get ready for and compete at the USPA Nationals than the iFLY Seattle group.

The classical Texas showdown between Dallas 350 (iFLY Dallas) and Spaceland Lite (iFLY Houston) turned out to the advantage of the Spaceland team this year, due to a funneled exit in Round 6 and several penalties for Dallas 350 in the last three rounds.

Three other teams from Dallas competed in the AAA/Advanced Class, and several more Indoor Cloud League competitors from Texas were in lineups on the AA/Intermediate Class leaderboard in 4-way. In addition, many of the 4-way competitors also competed in 8-way and 16-way.

Despite the busy October schedule, Amanda Lampton's ICL team at iFLY Dallas was still able to post scores in five of the six categories, with a AAA Class number still to come. She was not present this time, however, her Dallas 350 team mate Scott Levy and Karen Bilder were able to guide the four lineups through the five sequences.

Three of the four lineups combined for the five scores, and Karen Bilder with her RRR Class lineup (Lacey Porter, Zach Breaux, Michael Erickson) posted the highest October score for this category with a 28-pointer.

iFLY Houston has not submitted any scores and videos so far, as the Spaceland Lite members were in the same situation as Dallas 350. There is still time left to fill the October leaderboard with more numbers and videos, while the new sequences for November are posted...
