Did You Know...

... that Spaceland Lite is ready to roll with a new 2016 lineup?

USPA Advanced Class gold in 2011: Original Spaceland Lite lineup
posted Mar 30th, 2016 - The Sun Path Products NSL News had reported on March 23rd, 2015, that David Grabowski joined Spaceland Lite to replace Richard Rothery, who had stepped back at the end of the 2014 season.

The Texas team, USPA Advanced Class champion of 2011, still had a slow 2015 season with the new lineup after Dave Grabowski tore his right bicep tendon in early July, when exiting Block 22 (T - Chinese T), and needed surgery to re-attach it.

The 2016 season begins with a new Spaceland Lite 4-way lineup, as well. Devon Shows told the Sun Path Products NSL News that Christy West is stepping back:

"Christy West has decided to step back from the big-time commitment that competitive 4-way requires after six years and many medals, including the 2011 USPA Nationals Advanced Class Gold, with the team. She has been a great team mate and will continue to be a part of the amazing 8-way team that we have built."

He said that the latest personnel change still brings a new opportunity and that his team is excited to move into the 2016 season with the new lineup: "We are very happy to finally announce that Kim Hollander will be joining the team."

The former Fallout member will take the Inside Center slot where she re-connects with her long-time piece partner Dave Grabowski. Katrina Shows moves to the Outside Center position to complete the family front piece with her husband Devon Shows.

Devon Shows said that the new lineup is warmed up: "We've already test-driven the lineup with over three hours in the tunnel and a good showing at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2016 coming in just behind the Golden Knights Black team with a 17.7 average and finishing in the top half of the Open Class field."

Devon Shows said that the team has a good starting point: "With a good basis to build from and our next training session scheduled we're looking forward to a really great year!"

Kim Hollander and David Grabowski were rear piece partners with Fallout, Fugitives, and Misfits. Katrina and Devon Shows were rear piece partners for several years, as well, and are now back together in the front piece. Devon Shows said that he and his wife were ready for the change: "We put in a little extra work over the winter to try to get the front piece dialed in before we started training with the rest of the team for the Paraclete competition since the back half had a lot more slot familiarity than we did."

He said that Spaceland Lite was not quite ready to announce the new lineup officially at Paraclete, as Kim Hollander was still working out her schedule and availability for the rest of the year: "However, we've now got that all clear and we're ready to roll..."
