posted Mar 8th, 2016 - The aftermath of the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2016 begins with the video of the teams in the first two places.

The first update of the Sun Path Products NSL News from Raeford last weekend pointed out that the Golden Knights delegation had three teams within the first seven places in the 4-way Open Class competition.

The same story explained why it was not really such a great surprise to see the U.S. Army's Gold team somewhere on the top of the leaderboard.

However, it was a surprise how Kurt Isenbarger, Matt Davidson, Sean Sweeney and Jesse Stahler dominated the 4-way Open Class competition. They posted the highscores in eight of the ten rounds.

Only the Golden Knights 4-way Women team was able to outscore the Gold team in two rounds and tie their scores in three additional ones.

The 28.2 average last weekend was the second highest for a Golden Knights 4-way Open Class lineup in team history. Kurt Isenbarger and Matt Davidson had Brian "BK" Krause and John Hoover in the lineup that posted a 29.6 average at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2008. It was the same event where Thiago Gomes still competed with Sebastian Tempest.

Larry Miller, reigning 8-way world champion of 2012 and 2014, was filming the 4-way lineup of the Golden Knights at the outdoor meet in Raeford on the same weekend, where they posted a 22.7 average.

Sean Sweeney, also 8-way world champion of 2012 and 2014, and team captain of the Golden Knights since 2012, was not in the active 4-way or 8-way lineup of the Golden Knights in 2008. He competed with Teiwaz (James Klinge, Rodney Cruce, Kurt Gaebel) at the Paraclete indoor and outdoor meets in 2008 and attended his first World Championship of Formation Skydiving later the same year in Maubeuge with a pickup team of five Golden Knights (Brian Krause, Kurt Isenbarger, Eric Heinsheimer, Matt Davidson, Sean Sweeney), two Fastrax members (Thomas Hughes, Doug Park) and Kirk Verner. Larry Miller was on camera for the silver medals in Maubeuge.

Sean Sweeney was the youngest and newest Golden Knights member in 2008 and was then fully integrated in the 8-way lineup that Brian Krause put together in 2009 to win back the world's top position in 8-way. He first placed second in Menzelinsk 2010 before climbing to the 8-way top spot at the Mondial Dubai 2012.

His mentor, Golden Knights team captain between 2009 and 2012 Brian Krause, was judging the 4-way competition together with Kirk Verner last weekend in Raeford, where the new team captain posted the 28.2 average with the currently newest and youngest team member, Jesse Stahler. Kurt Isenbarger and Matt Davidson were in both lineups, for the 29.6 average at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2008 and for the 28.2 average last weekend.

The Golden Knights now have to go back to the 8-way training routine and get ready to defend the William H. Ottley Sword for Formation Skydiving Competition - also known as the Excalibur - later this year at the Mondial 2016.
