NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that two teams at the 2nd Flyspot Open are also in the Top 10 indoor world rankings in 4-way Women?

Challenging Lest Stunts: No Mercy on home turf
posted Nov 14th, 2015 - The 2nd Flyspot Polish Open 2015 is in full swing and offers an interesting and probably unique situation in the AAA/Open Class competition.

Three teams are competing in this category, and none of the competitors is male. The AAA Class competition is exclusively a female affair between three teams who had also attended the 1st FAI World Indoor Skydiving Championships - in 4-way Women.

The ranking order between the same three teams has not changed, and the scoring level is quite similar so far, even though No Mercy has moved closer to Les Stunts from Belgium. However, five more rounds are scheduled for Sunday, and the Super Sequence in Round 9 has the potential to bring significant changes.

8th place in the Team World Rankings: Les Stunts
It is coincidence that an exclusively all-female AAA/Open Class competition happens for the first time, while the Sun Path Products NSL News has recently been introducing the annual Team World Rankings, where the female indoor numbers are next.

Two of the three teams who are currently competing in Poland are also in the Top 10 of the team world rankings this year. Les Stunts are in 8th place and No Mercy right behind in 9th. No Mercy has the opportunity at Flyspot to catch up and move ahead of Les Stunts.

Les Stunts are also in 9th place of this year's outdoor rankings, with the same 12.5 average that the team had posted for the 6th place at the world meet in Prostejov 2014. The currently 8th place at this year's indoor world rankings came with the 5th place in Prague and an 18.7 average, after the 17.4 at the World Challenge 2015.

Top 5 indoor and outdoor: NFTO
Nine of the Top 10 teams are from different countries, which is exactly the same as for the outdoor rankings. The USA had a second team (Camdak.is) in 10th place of the outdoor Top 10, while UK teams Fly Like a Girl and NFTO are in 3rd and 5th place of the indoor rankings.

No Mercy, Czech indoor team HF Chicks, the Spanish Gatas and Dubai's Asaar Ladies have pushed Kewara (Italy), Infra Red Band (Russia), Bellatrix (Australia) and Camdak.is out of the world's indoor Top 10. In fact, the same four teams have not attended any indoor competition this year and cannot be found at all in the rankings.

The six teams who made it to the finals at the outdoor world meet last year are all ranked in the outdoor Top 10 for 2015 and may change their positions after the upcoming World Air Games, while the outcome of the Clash of Champions will have its own impact on the world indoor rankings in 4-way Women, even though the event does not have a separate leaderboard for this category.
