Did You Know...

... that Monaco Vitalsea won the Coupe de France with another new 8-way lineup?

Monaco Vitalsea's 8-way lineup in Vannes
posted Jul 17th, 2015 - The second Coupe de France competition this year included once again an 8-way competition that three teams attended in Vannes.

Three 8-way teams had also competed at the first event in Bouloc in May, and two of them came back to finish off the Coupe de France 2015 before the national championships conclude the national competition season in France in mid-August.

The French national 8-way team does not compete at the Coupe de France events and will meet the Golden Knights at the World Cup in September. However, a few members of the French 8-way lineup continued to compete as player coaches for other 8-way teams. Manu Sarrazin was back with a slightly different 8-way Otter PCP lineup, while Julien Degen introduced a new team, 8MBI Maubeuge, to 8-way competition.

Awards at the Coupe de France
Neither of the teams behind the Coupe de France 2015 winner was able to offer Monaco Vitalsea's 8-way lineup much opposition. The complete 4-way lineup (Didier Boignon, Stephane Mattoni, Jeff Ronzevalle, Frank Vazille) was back again and gathered four additional 8-way competitors under the team's umbrella.

Pamela Lissajoux, member of the national B-Team Artemis Saumur, had competed for Monaco Vitalsea at the May meet where the 8-way lineup finished with a 10.6 average. She was back to help the same team with three different members to the 12.8 average this month.

Florian Denonfoux has been competing for Monaco Vitalsea in 4-way and 8-way over the years. He was a member of the lineup that posted the highest team average (15.0) at the 5th Dubai International Parachuting Championship.

Monaco Vitalsea in 8-way action
Yves Negrie has been a Monaco Vitalsea member for a long time, as well, in 4-way and in 8-way. He trained and competed with Didier Boignon, Jeff Ronzevalle and Franck Vazille in the same time period more than 20 years ago and won several medals at World Cups and World Meets for France. The Monaco project brought the former team mates back together.

Last and by far not least, Laurence Herve completed the Monaco Vitalsea lineup at the Coupe de France July meet. She was a member of the Deep Blue Defenders, who won the gold medals in 4-way Women at the Mondial Dubai 2012. She had to step back into the alternate slot, when she broke her ankle just a few weeks before the world meet. Sophie Deremaux came back to fill the slot and help to save the gold medals for France.

Laurence Herve continued with the French Girls and won her own gold medal in the Point slot at the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014. Then she switched to the French 4-way Open Class lineup and is in training for the Mondial Chicago 2016. She will soon post the first scores of the new French national team in 4-way Open...
