Did You Know...

... that two new DeLand teams are on the road to the USPA Nationals?

DeLand Momentum with coach Solly Williams
posted Apr 17th, 2015 - The three teams from Florida who competed last weekend staid away from each other and signed up for three different categories.

Both DeLand teams had made their plans for the 2015 season earlier, which include the USPA Nationals. DeLand Momentum will compete in the AAA/Advanced Class, while DeLand Flashpoint trains for the AA/Intermediate Class competition in Eloy.

Purple HaZe competed in the AA Class of the Florida Skydiving League 2014 and came back in the A Class this year with a slightly different lineup. Former ZEUS member John Stares is now in the Tail slot for Purple HaZe, and the new lineup started with the highest meet average in team history.

DeLand Momentum was on the same AAA Class leaderboard with the two experienced German teams and posted the team's first meet average as a starting point for this year's road to the national championships.

Former Crimson Fox member Andrea Greening, who competed for Canada at the Mondial Dubai 2012, and James Hall were team mates at the NSL Championship 2014 with Foxtrot. Gilles Dutrisac and Golden Knights 8-way member Andrew Starr completed the Foxtrot lineup for the three outdoor rounds in DeLand and the six indoor rounds at iFLY Orlando.

Andrea Greening and James Hall then joined forces with Hal Spence and Mariuschka Lovera to continue for the 2015 season with plans for training and competition. The first 8.8 meet average will very soon turn into a 2-digit number after a very challenging competition draw at DeLand Momentum's first competition.

DeLand Flashpoint was formed for the 2015 season, as well, and will travel together with DeLand Momentum to Arizona at the end of the competition season. Flashpoint competes in the AA/Intermediate Class.

The new DeLand team had attended the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2015, where an easier competition draw allowed a higher meet average than last weekend.

All team members have participated regularly at the Indoor Cloud League events at iFLY Orlando, where they contributed heavily to the total score each month with different lineups. Eventually, Alix Raymond, Jairo Garcia, Steve Hubbard and Jim Jim Prochaska decided to continue as a team and formed DeLand Flashpoint. Coach Gilles Dutrisac is also filming the team.
