SolarFlakes at the World Meet 2014 in Prostejov
posted Jan 11th, 2015 - The field of teams at the Polish Indoor Open 2014 included three national 4-way teams, two from Lithuania (Magic 4 - Open Class, SolarFlakes - Women) and VFS team Fly Definition from Poland.

Both teams from Lithuania had attended the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014 earlier last year and before finishing off the 2014 competition season in the Flyspot wind tunnel chamber. Fly Definition had placed 2nd at the FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving.

The SolarFlakes were the only 4-way Women team in the AAA Class field in Poland at their second indoor competition this year. They finished in 4th place behind the highest ranked Polish team, Sky4four, and ahead of two other 4-way teams from Poland.

The Sun Path Products NSL News had introduced the SolarFlakes on 11 July 2014 before they would become the first team from Lithuania to compete in 4-way Women at a world meet.

The SolarFlakes had still competed in the AA Class (11.8) at the World Challenge 2014. The meet average in the AAA Class at the Polish Indoor Open 2014 (13.6) was significantly higher at the end of a successful 2014 season.

Outside Center Zivile Gudaityte said that her team was very happy with the results: "It was great to meet so many Polish teams, and we look forward to seeing them again soon. We also hope more teams from around Europe will come next time." The SolarFlakes will continue with the same lineup this year. Former Hayabusa member and Qatar coach Luc Verstrepen will work with the SolarFlakes at the training camps at Flyspot.

The Polish Indoor Open 2014 also included the national indoor championships, where Sky4four with Irish guest competitor Gordon Hodgkinson took the 1st place. Poland's leading military team, OSWRiS I, finished 2nd. The team name stands for the Polish Military Parachuting Center, and the team members usually focus on canopy accuracy landings.

The OSWRiS I members said that the inaugural Polish FS Championship was very well organized, and they liked the awards presented by Flyspot and the Polish Aero Club.

High Voltage was the third Polish team in the AAA Class and won the bronze medals of the national championships with a 12.8 average.
