Did You Know...

... that four Czech team still have a perfect record of 2013/14 indoor scoring progression?

January indoor competition at the Skydive Arena
posted Jan 20th, 2014 - The indoor part of the SKYLEAGUE.COM event coverage continues with recent updates, while the outdoor coverage still consists mostly of previews of events to come and reviews of previous meets.

The winter season in the western hemisphere keeps teams and competitors naturally either in hibernation or limits them to visits at warmer places for winter training camps. That does not count any longer for the teams who are within reasonable travel distance to one of the many wind tunnels.

Teams in the Czech Republic have enjoyed a consistent indoor competition schedule for the winter season since 2011, when Czech Republic Skydiving League director Jan Klapka launched the indoor league in October at the Sportflight Skydive Arena in Prague. He has been running one competition per month throughout the Czech winter ever since, and the January 2014 meet took place last week.

Clean progression record: Soft4way
The same eleven teams who competed in November and December 2013 came back for the January competition. Four of the eleven teams have managed to maintain a perfect record of progression so far. Both AA Class teams, Soft4way (9.3 - 10.2 - 10.8) and Accord (7.6 - 8.2 - 8.5) have increased their averages at each of the three meeets of the currently running winter season.

Impact (13.2 - 14.3 - 14.4) is the best Czech 4way team in the A Class and did the same in the most competitive category of the Czech Republic indoor league. Last not least, Rookie Class team Hoofs.cz (7.9 - 9.2 - 9.3) also maintained a perfectly clean scoring record so far.

The Czech national 4way team, Bad Boyz, attended the competition despite a missing member of the starting lineup. Center Outside Honza Lukavec was slightly injured, and alternate Jaroslav Smitka competed together with Jan Klapka,Vaclav Prokes and Marian Jeziak.

Awards for the best Czech ICL point collectors
The January competition also included the award ceremony for the Czech participation at the Indoor Cloud League meets of the 2013 season.

Jan Klapka keeps track of each team's contribution of ICL points, and the Skydive Arena honored the best point collectors for the Czech total number of ICL points last year. Bad Boyz (AAA) collected a total of 144 points for the Czech Republic in 2013. Best of Relative (71) and Sky Vengeance (47) finished in 2nd and 3rd place.

A total of 18 Czech teams competed for Jan Klapka's Czech group at the Skydive Arena last year and collected a total of 482 ICL points. The best Czech total score was 130 points for the six December sequences. The January numbers for the Skydive Arena will be posted later this week.
