Did You Know...

... that the videos of Round 6 are now available on NSL-TV?

France Maubeuge and all top teams - see video
posted Apr 5th, 2009 - The scores of Round 6 are posted, and Joey Jones was right, at least for the first round on Sunday. Nothing has changed.

The NSL-TV camera followed the top teams once again into the tunnel this morning.

The new clip begins with France Maubeuge and the team's final preparations for Round 6, plus the actual performance in the flying chamber. The 25-pointer turned out to be the 3rd highest score for the round.

Italian power with NSL Gloves
After leaving the tunnel, the NSL News ran into Area 51 getting ready for Round 6. Igor Galvan from Italy was well prepared and well equipped for his performance, with the beautiful NSL Gloves. No surprise that he is out-performing most of the other Italian teams at the World Challenge 2009...

After the French debriefing in the hallway, the NSL-TV camera went back into the flying chamber and captured the rest of the top contenders in the same stretch as yesterday (GKXP - XL - Arcteryx - Airspeed - Hayabusa - Fury).

It begins one team earlier though. UK's all-female lineup Pussy Galore opens up a series of world class performances for Round 6, where Airspeed Odyssey posted the next sole highscore with a 27-pointer.

NSL Reality TV shows an important hole in the wall

The next NSL Reality TV video has been uploaded and can be viewed by clicking here.

This time, it works like a streaming video. The camera was set up in the hallway of the entry level to the flying chamber. That's the area where people come and go, teams prepare for their next performances, they chat about their latest round after coming out of the flying chamber, and they just hang out or follow information on the DZ-TV screens.

The camera briefly changed position at the end of the video when it shows the actual entry into the flying chamber. The guardian of the most important hole in the wall keeps track of the teams and their order of flying sessions.

Airspeed's Round 5 - see video

Airspeed's video of Round 5 is now on NSL-TV

And there it is, Airspeed's Round 5, the last round on Saturday. It can now be viewed by clicking here.

The first round this morning, Round 6, has started in the meantime. The NSL-TV camera is capturing scenes at the tunnel entry at the moment. This NSL Reality TV footage will be posted later, together with more up close and personal footage of team performances in the flying chamber. The offical meet videos, as Airspeed's of Round 5, will be added later and after the event is over.

Joey Jones was working with his teams again this morning, and he said that he did not expect any significant changes today. He thinks that the sequences of Rounds 6 - 10 are too slow to shake up the leaderboard as much as the first five rounds did. Stay tuned for the next videos and the first scores.

Airspeed's Craig Girard and Eliana Rodriguez prepare for top delivery in Round 5

Chris Farina explained Fury's rollercoaster yesterday

It happened again. Airspeed delivered top performance when it was time to.

The skydiving world has seen this happen for a little over two years now, and it seems like it will happen over and over again. The circumstances were perfect for the next most serious test of the reigning 4-way world champions.

Airspeed had a 1-point lead over France Maubeuge after two rounds and increased it in Round 3, even though Perris Fury had the highscore then.

Fury gained momentum with the results of Round 3 and used it in Round 4 to post a new record score for a single round and beat Airspeed again, this time by six points.

Chris Farina explains - see video
The Perris team had even taken the lead by one point, which brought motivation and energy probably to the peak level. The pressure was as high as it can be on Airspeed. The world champion had to fight back and deliver something special in Round 5 - and they did.

The lead is back in Airspeed's possession, and it is up to six points after an outstanding 29-point performance in Round 5. Perris Fury lost three points, however, even a 25-pointer would still have been far behind Airspeed.

NSL-TV will follow up with the video of Airspeed's Round 5 later. The NSL News found Perris Fury's Center Inside, Chris Farina, this morning who took a few minutes to explain yesterday's rollercoaster situation. The video of this live interview at Bodyflight Bedford can be viewed by clicking here.
