Did You Know...

... that Florida had tough internal competition for scores on the ICL leaderboard?

September winner: Northwest at iFLY Seattle
posted Oct 10th, 2013 - Not much changed on the Indoor Cloud League leaderboard for the month of September after the Northern California Skydiving League group added their scores and videos from the last flying session at iFLY SF Bay.

Deb Correia's group of the Northwest Skydiving League at iFLY Seattle won with a total of 108 points for the six September sequences, seven points ahead of Florida in 2nd place. Jan Klapka's group at the Skydive Arena in Prague took the 3rd place for the first time, after a few 4th place finishes before.

Florida is still up by one ICL point (5 - 4) over the Northwest after a total of nine meet months. The new sequences for the month of October have been posted, and Florida collected a total of 115 points after the first NSL Tunnel Kicker session at iFLY Orlando on Tuesday night.

First scores for October: Florida at iFLY Orlando
It was a competitive evening for the participants at iFLY Orlando. The popular and growing event created a total of eight different lineups for the six sequences this time. FSL indoor head coach Ari Perelman and his assistant coaches (Ron Hill, Gilles Dutrisac, Kurt Gaebel) tried to prepare the participants as well as possible for the competitive part of the NSL Tunnel Kicker evening at the end of the event.

Even the two new tunnel flyers, Adam Money and Leslie Vath, who started with 1-on-1 training in borrowed iFLY suits, ended up in one of the two Rookie A Class lineups. However, the other FSL lineup in this category scored higher and contributed 25 points to the total number.

The A Class lineups had internal FSL competition at iFLY Orlando, as well. It was a close race for the honor of getting the points and the video on the leaderboard. Pyro4ic members Rebecca Stares, Grant Underland and Frederic Bonneville started in the Rookie Class of the FSL outdoor season this year and moved up into the A Class in July. They were first performing the Rookie AAA Class sequence and were eager to perform the A Class sequence later.

New after 1-on-1 in Rookie A and double duties in Rookie AAA and A: Leslie Vath and Rebecca Stares
The three Pyro4ic members with player coach Kurt Gaebel had strong and more experienced competition in this category. Gilles Dutrisac, with Zunday members Keith Murray, Sebastian Jimenez and Jon Agar won the internal A Class competition by two points (15 - 13) and got their score and video posted.

The internal competition was even tougher in the Rookie AAA Class. Three lineups were racing for the FSL honors on the ICL leaderboard. Pyro4ic members Rebecca Stares, Grant Underland and Frederic Bonneville posted an 18-pointer before moving up into the A Class, which was tied by player coach Gilles Dutrisac with Matt Hilson, Steve Hubbard and Craig Sagalow.

Both 18-pointers were not good enough. Ari Perelman had Erica Gorski, Alixandra Raymond and Dave Evans in his lineup and followed up with a 21-pointer for the Florida group. The total of 115 points is a promising start for the October competition. However, there are still a few weaker scores that may still be improved later this month.
