Did You Know...

... that CTR Optimum keeps up the scoring progression in and for Brazil?

Start of the CTR Optimum project in 2005, with Craig Girard
posted Jul 2nd, 2012 - A total of 25 teams actually competed last weekend, however, all scores can not be found on the same leaderboard, as there were three different competition draws for three different meets.

However, at least for now, all scores can still be found on the same page at the scores overview.

Six teams competed in Brazil and used the original weekly NSL competition draw for two of the four categories. Three Brazilian teams competed in the AAA Class and three more in the AA Class.

The field included both national 4way teams, CTR Optimum in the Open Class and Fenix in the female 4way category.

The second Optimum lineup completed the AAA Class field and came back after a successful 2011 season.

CTR Optimum at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012
The history of the second Optimum lineup actually began in 2009 when "Optimum Friends" with former Optimum members came together for the Brazilian Nationals 2009. Optimum Friends came back in 2010 and competed with Fabio Diniz, George Narita, Pedro Ushizima, Coco and Guillermo at the national championships.

The former Optimum members and friends of the team enjoyed the casual project and added some training in 2011. Pedro Ushizima, Ziara Abud, Gordinho and George Narita competed at last year's Brazilian Nationals.

This year, Optimum had both lineups at the first meet in Brazil last weekend. The second lineup consisted of Pedro Ushizima, Ziara Abud, Renato Acerbi, George Narita, with Rodrigo Kristensen on camera, and Optimum Friends had a good competition with Brazil's national team in the female category, Fenix.

CTR Optimum scoring progression 2005 - 2012
Fenix launched the 2012 season on almost exactly the same scoring level as at the Brazilian Nationals 2011 (9.7) with a 9.8 average last weekend. CTR Optimum had already shown at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012 that last year's best average (15.4) would be history this year.

The 16.6 average in March in DeLand has now become history too, and the new CTR Optimum team record stands at 17.2 after ten rounds last weekend.

CTR Optimum plans to complete 300 training jumps this year, with additional 20 hours of tunnel time. Arizona Airspeed's Mark Kirkby is working as a coach with the team. Goal is to reach the 20-point average and represent Brazil very well at the World Meet 2012. Last weekend's meet was still more a part of the process on the way to Dubai. However, the 17.2 average shows the progression. No team from Brazil has ever been close to the 20-point average level...
