Did You Know...

... that Equinox from Lithuania took the Rookie Class top spot once again?

Equinox exit setup with NSL Gloves
posted Jun 19th, 2012 - Last not least, the Rookie Class scores from Lithuania have completed last weekend's leaderboard. The competition class with the easiest dive pool for the beginners and newcomers in 4way Formation Skydiving competition was actually the most colorful one, including teams from three different nations: USA (MASL), Netherlands and Lithuania.

Equinox had the top spot in the Rookie Class for the first time on the May 19 weekend when the scores of three teams were posted. This time, five teams competed in the Rookie Class, and Equinox finished once again on the top of the leaderboard.

The 9.0 average after eight rounds at the first meet would have been enough to be in the top position last weekend, as well. However, the Lithuanian team went up to a 12.2 average after only five rounds and left all other Rookie Class teams in the dust. The 16-pointer in Round 5 was a new team record at an outdoor competition, and all Equinox scores were at the 2-digit level.

Equinox exit formation: Star
This was the third meet for Equinox this year after the early start at the World Challenge 2012 and the first outdoor meet in May. The weather did not allow the team to complete more than five rounds last weekend.

Equinox still launches a Star for each sequence and invests a few seconds to let the first formation level out.

The scoring level will probably increase even more as soon as the team begins to extend the exit options.

However, the Lithuanian team has mastered the pool of random formations very well and may become eager to play with the first set of A Class blocks soon. Meets in Lithuania are scheduled for two more weekends in July and August.
