Did You Know...

... that Cross Keys teams have joined the UK leaderboard?

Monkey lineup of 2011
posted May 15th, 2012 - The teams from the United Kingdom have some company now on the overall leaderboard where the scores of three teams from the MidAtlantic Skydiving League have been added. More US scores will shake up the leaderboard as soon as the results from Carolina will be posted. CASL Director Andy Honigbaum said that he had 13 teams at the 2012 season opener last weekend.

Cross Keys Flashpoint joined the UK race for the 2nd place in the A Class. There are currently three teams tied with the total of 29 points in this category, and MASL team Bloody Stump has also taken away the 2nd place from RAFSPA's Merlin lineup in the AA Class.

Bloody Stump is a new combination of last year's MASL competitors. Greg Mirkin and Dennis Miller competed with Weatherhold and Monkey, Kristof Szilard with Wind Shear in 2011. The 4th member Greg Gallaher returned to skydiving last month after a 10-year break. Dennis Miller reported that his team helped him "to shake out the cobwebs as the dive pool has seen some changes since his last outing". He added that Greg Gallaher demonstrated successfully that flying skills don't go away during a long recess.

A Class team Flashpoint is also a new lineup with previous MASL competitors. Fritz Carr and Mariaelana Rodriguez have joined forces with Gretchen Podraza, Lou Nieves, and videographer Matt DeChant.

The team met at the Cross Keys season opener on April 28 for a trial run and determined that they play well together. Last weekend's meet was the official kickoff event of the Flashpoint training season. The new team is now working on all of the A Class blocks to prepare for the big events in the fall.

Flashpoint videographer Matt DeChant was not available last weekend, and Don Lynch helped out by flying the video slot for two teams doing six back to back loads. Dennis Miller expects the participation to increase significantly at the June meet at Cross Keys.
