Did You Know...

... that JaNette Lefkowitz was the highest scoring female competitor at the World Challenge 2012?

JaNette Lefkowitz with SDC Rhythm XP
posted Apr 17th, 2012 - The female 4way teams had their own leaderboard for the first time at the World Challenge 2012. It was well worth it since the number of teams doubled compared to last year's event.

The separate leaderboard also makes it easier to follow the competition in the female 4way category and the race to Dubai 2012. Female 4way competition has had its own place at the IPC (International Parachuting Commission) events since it was introduced in 2001.

However, there is always an interesting mix with the teams of the Open Class, as several female world class competitors are also in lineups with the boys. This year, the female top scorer finished in 5th place with a 24.7 average, while the best team in the female category would have placed 9th in the Open Class competition with a 23.4 average.

SDC Rhythm XP's Center Outside JaNette Lefkowitz deserves the honor of the highest average and placement with her team, whether she likes to hear it or not.

She outscored all teams in the female 4way category and also another competitor who is in a lineup with three males, Satori's Center Outside Julia Foxwell.

Satori actually had a good race going with the two top teams on the other leaderboard, and Julia Foxwell finished four points ahead of her former world champion team mates of 2006, Amanda Kemp and Claire "Sparky" Scott, who flew with Liz Mathews and Tarnya Hollis for Just4Fun.

The new NSL-TV clip features the TOP 3 teams at the World Challenge 2012 with all ten rounds.

The extended leaderboard shows how the best three teams in the female 4way category would have finished in the Open Class. The French Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders would end up in 10th place after a 9th place in 2011 with a 23.6 average. The competition draw at the World Challenge 2011 included a Super Sequence, and the French team confirmed what became obvious at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012: The new lineup is on track to defend the 2010 gold medals successfully.

The UK team Just4Fun will not compete at the World Meet in Dubai this year, as team member Claire "Sparky" Scott mentioned in the aftermath of the World Challenge 2012. Germany's ISB Air Remscheid could be the toughest competition for the French Defenders, unless the Golden Knights and Polaris catch up quickly.

This will be difficult, as Deep Blue is not going to rest from here on. Only the German team seems to be close enough to make it difficult for France in Dubai. The young team will have to keep up with the French training efforts throughout the summer. It could work out well for ISB Air Remscheid, as club president and sponsor Klaus Mathies is a big fan of the team. He will do his part to offer as much support as possible for the German team.
