NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that NSL Reality TV launches the World Challenge 2012 coverage with a midnight session?

Late night training at Bodyflight Bedford
posted Apr 5th, 2012 - The move of the NSL News from DeLand to Bedford has been completed successfully, and 4way competition is back as the main topic for the next four days. It's time for the World Challenge 2012.

The first preview live from Bodyflight Bedford features activities at the wind tunnel on Wednesday evening. Many teams arrive earlier to get some additional indoor training time. The NSL News was present when three teams were in session for a few hours, Thunder, ISB Air Remscheid and Atmosfera G4.

Thunder is back in full strength with the team's original Point, Wesley Claessens, who had to sit out for the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012 due to a knee injury. Arizona Airspeed's Thomas Hughes was filling the slot in DeLand.

Well worth the efforts: ISB Air Remscheid
The same counts for ISB Air Remscheid. Sarah Hajooze is back in full action, even though she still needs another surgery to remove some metal from her back and knee. The German team has trained quite a lot in the winter at their home wind tunnel in Bottrop (ISB Air). The team members are used to the late night training, as it was on Wednesday when the tunnel session began at midnight.

Travel distances in Germany are also challening for the ISB Air members. It takes Center Inside Pia Weingart six hours to get from her home town Munich to the wind tunnel in Bottrop - sometimes for one hour of training. She says that it is well worth it. The team has so much fun, and she can also feel the progression all the time. It makes her to want even more, despite the logistical challenges.

Atmosfera G4 from Portugal was the third team for this midnight training session, and Gary Smith was coaching. He is also working with NMP-PCH Hayabusa and was up all night for coaching and flying before the Hayabusa day began Thursday morning. The tunnel was running all night long too.
