NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that Jerry Bird told another great story at the award ceremony?

Sunday is 8way day
posted Mar 18th, 2012 - Sunday is the second day for the 8way competition at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012. The Golden Knights are chasing the Golden Knights world records of 1997, and judge Eric Heinsheimer is watching it carefully.

The US Army team had a great start into the day and may have the momentum going for them. The NSL News will cover especially Round 9 extensively later.

Thunder is also catching up in 4way. Thomas Hughes is filling the open slot for the international lineup that made the long trip from Europe to compete in DeLand. Thunder cannot win any cash in the Shamrock Showdown Skins Game. Skydive Spain Satori ($800), DeLand Norgies ($800) and Anima ($400) won all the money.

$3,000 for Arizona Airspeed - Jerry Bird
NSL Reality TV now covers first the last 4way round yesterday. The clip begins with the landings after Round 10. The currently three best 4way teams in the world came together and congratulated Arizona Airspeed for the top performance and the first place. The Aerodyne Aerokart members from France decided to end their moustache project that began in Arizona at the last training camp in February...

Jerry Bird opened the award ceremony with one of his stories that have entertained skydivers at the end of the day and at the DZ camp fire for decades. This one was about his 8way experience with the Golden Knights in 1988. He said that he did 4way and 8way at the same jump.

He also introduced himself more carefully, as many younger skydivers don't know much about his incredible achievements as a pioneer in Formation Skydiving competition. He also handed out the $7,000 of prize money that Paraclete XP sponsored for the overall winning teams in ($3,000 - $1,500 - $500) and additional $2,000 for the winners in the Shamrock Showdown Skins Game.
