Did You Know...

... that Team Future likes to copy the NSL competition draw on meet weekends?

posted Sep 8th, 2008 - The NSL leaderboard never remains the same for very long. The scores of the ESL Championship 2008 have already moved one slot backwards, while the new scores of the DFV Cup in Germany have taken the up-do-date spot. The NSL News will provide more information later from the German top competition this year.
Team Future at the World Challenge 2008
In the meantime, the NSL News goes back to two different events. The indoor Team Future was introduced by the NSL News during the event coverage of the World Challenge 2008. Several stories included information of 11-year old Kayla Tinucci and her 8-year old brother Justin, who are flying in 4-way with tunnel instructors Brad Cole and Daniel Perry. The story on 12 May 2008 eventually focused completely on Team Future at Bodyflight Bedford.

The team had a lot of fun in Bedford where they participated in both the 4-way competition and also the freeflying event. The first attendance at a major tunnel competition obviously inspired Team Future to put even more effort into 4-way competition, as the whole Tinucci family and Team Future staff began to think of ways how to become a part of the consistent 4-way event schedule weekend by weekend.

Observation of the competition in Bedford
The ongoing 4-way competition almost each weekend between February and September, created by the cooperation between the many leagues within the national and international NSL Network, offers the opportunity to get more than enough competition fun and practice.

However, the vast majority of these events are outdoor competitions, which makes it impossible for Kayla and Justin Tinucci to participate at any time. A few tunnel competitions offer opportunities here and there, but they don't have the same frequency and the logistics are difficult.

The main advantage of the leagues within the NSL Network is the fact that the meets of the regular season and the playoffs are held locally and regionally and don't require a lot of traveling. Not each league has its own windtunnel (yet...) which would allow either a consistent schedule of tunnel meets or other opportunities as the one that Team Future chose.

Freeflying awards for Kayla and Justin Tinucci
Kayla and Justin Tinucci, Brad Cole and Daniel Perry finally decided to copy the NSL competition draws of certain weekends and fly the same sequences in the windtunnel. After the weekends, when the scores of teams from all over the world have been posted at the NSL leaderboard, they could compare their own indoor performance with the outdoor results.

The NSL News has now received a few videos of Team Future's indoor meets where they copied the NSL competition draw.

The currently uploaded video offers all ten competition rounds of the meet weekend on July 19. Team Future uses the AA Class competition draw, and nine other teams competed in this category. Three AA Class sequences were identical with the AAA Class though, which extended the number of teams that Team Future could compare their own scores with.

Heavy load for 8-year old Justin
The skydiving community knows that indoor and outdoor competitions are two different worlds and that the scores don't compare well, realistically. However, Kayla and Justin Tinucci still have to wait for quite a while until they can jump from a plane. In the meantime, they can continue to join the NSL Network weekend by weekend and learn almost everything about 4-way competition.

The NSL-TV audience has the opportunity to judge the provided videos, watch the talented kids fly and see how they master the 16 blocks and all random formations in the windtunnel. Kayla and Justin Tinucci could become the future 4-way world champions in a few years...
