Did You Know...

... that Fastrax has a lot of energy and momentum going?

No Airspeed sweep this year
posted Oct 22nd, 2006 - The day is over for the 4-way teams after seven competition jumps. The top of the leaderboard looks very different than expected. The two Airspeed line-ups are far behind the top positions, and there is no way that Airspeed could sweep 4-way and 8-way for the first time in US history.

Team Fastrax was supposed to be the obstacle in the way for the Airspeed sweep, and the well trained team surely took care of business. Things are going even better for Fastrax. The NSL News mentioned earlier that Fastrax will try to get as close as possible to the Ruusian world class team Black Cat.

The current leaderboard shows a different picture. The Russians are trailing four points behind Fastrax after seven rounds. This is no coincidence, Fastrax is on a fast track and moving strongly. Even the 2-point distance to DeLand Groove is next to nothing with the faster rounds of the meet coming up tomorrow.

John Hart mentioned that the best is still to come. His team likes the two blocks in the upcoming round eight, and the faster rounds usually favor well trained teams. Fastrax is ready to continue tomorrow as the first seven rounds went: "We have a lot of energy and momentum, and we will use it", said John Hart at the end of the day.

Solly Williams enjoys a cold one
The Golden Knights are as strong as expected with the new line-up. They have to keep an eye on Perris Fury and Airspeed Odyssey, both teams are only four points behind. However, the Army's 4-way veterans have probably enough experience to defend the currently held bronze medal position, even though everything is still possible in the remaining three rounds.

Last not least, there is the 2-point leader, the fun team from DeLand, Groove. The team members expected to possibly win a round here and there, which has been the case, more often than they thought. They surely did not expect to be leading the field after seven rounds.

The three reigning world champions, Shannon Pilcher, Ian Bobo and Gary Smith, integrated the former world champion, Solly Williams, very successfully. The main question is whether this almost untrained line-up will be able to get through the fast rounds without too many flaws. Tomorrow's jumps will show.
