Did You Know...

... that Airspeed was prepared for a different situation?

Still in great spirits: Eliana Rodriguez, Craig Girard
posted Apr 6th, 2010 - The last part of the NSL News live coverage of the World Challenge 2010 is the NSL Talk with Craig Girard.

It took place before the French national team and winner of the meet, Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge, spent a few minutes in front of the NSL-TV camera. The interview with the French team was featured with yesterday's story.

Craig Girard was in a completely new situation before the award ceremony began. He already knew that his team, the Arizona Airspeed 4-way world champions, would not even be on the stage when the four winners of the prize money would receive their checks.

Airspeed was in 5th place, two points behind Perris Fury after the ten rounds.

Arizona Airspeed at the World Challenge 2010
The first three places were taken by teams from France, Belgium and the international XL lineup. It has been a very long time that there was no US team in any of the three top positions - if it ever happened...

Craig Girard, however, was prepared for this situation. He had already explained earlier to the NSL News that his team is aware of the fact that the situation on the very top of the leaderboard has tightened up. There surely was the possibiblity that Airspeed might not win a meet one day.

His spirits were far from broken when he had to watch how the stage was set for the four other teams. In fact, he enjoyed the whole show just as much as usual. He has said so may times that he loves exciting competition and that it is good for the sport to have such exciting races.

The NSL News will follow up with the first videos of the official judging perspective next.
