News Article Did you know that the Aethers almost lost their first round since October?
posted: Apr 17th, 2026 The Golden Knights spent a few days at home before traveling to Florida for the Shamrock Showdown 2026 - 1st Bob Hallett Memorial. They arrived on Wednesday and were ready for training jumps on Thursday. The competition draw took place after both teams had completed their training jumps. The Aethers, led by coach Mathieu Bernier, and the Golden Knights agreed to use the full dive pool for the competition, including Round 11, and to complete all rounds if weather conditions allow. If the teams are tied after Round 11, an additional round can be drawn quickly and easily from the full dive pool. The... (more)
News Article Did you know that there have been several attempts at winning double gold since 1985?
posted: Apr 16th, 2026 French national coach Mathieu Bernier has been featured more frequently in NSL News headlines recently, although his name has often appeared in updates involving 4-way and 8-way double duties. He brings a wealth of experience in both events, along with a deep understanding of the challenges that come with competing in both disciplines simultaneously. Mathieu Bernier is currently in DeLand for an outdoor training camp with the Aethers, who will compete alongside—and against—the Golden Knights at the Shamrock Showdown 2026 - 1st Bob Hallett Memorial, beginning tomorrow, Friday, April 16. The... (more)
News Article Did you know that Aethers are in full outdoor training mode in DeLand?
posted: Apr 14th, 2026 The two top 4-way teams in the world, Aethers and Golden Knights, made strong statements at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2026 with the completion of Round 10 last Saturday. The event marked the end of the indoor competition season, while the first outdoor meet is already set for the coming weekend: the Shamrock Showdown 2026 - 1st Bob Hallett Memorial. Aethers and the Golden Knights are honoring the 1st Bob Hallett Memorial with their participation. Bob Hallett had supported the competition every year until his passing in a car accident in May 2025, just one month after the previous Shamrock Showdown... (more)
News Article Did you know that 15 teams in 4-way Women would be a record number?
posted: Apr 13th, 2026 The highly convincing, gold-medal performance of China’s 4-way Women team from Hubei came as little surprise—neither to the other twelve teams on the leaderboard nor to experts and spectators. The same team had already won the 4-way Women competition at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024 and the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025. A more unexpected result came from China’s second 4-way Women team, which raised its meet average from 23.3 in 2024 to 25.8 last week, securing the bronze medal and a second podium finish for China. Only the French Nephtys managed to separate the two Chinese teams... (more)
News Article Did you know that Aethers and Golden Knights switch quickly to outdoor competition?
posted: Apr 12th, 2026 The Aethers provided the exceptionally solid foundation for the double-gold success at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2026, as the NSL News pointed out yesterday. However, they still needed a second half for their French 8-way team that could match their flying and competitive standards. Nephtys rose to that challenge and helped secure the second set of gold medals for the French delegation at Weembi Lille. Original Arizona Airspeed member Kirk Verner reminded the NSL News of an earlier instance where a 4-way team also won an FAI/ISC event in 8-way. His original Airspeed lineup achieved the same double-gold... (more)
News Article Did you know that Aethers (almost) matched Mathieu Bernier's double gold at Weembi?
posted: Apr 12th, 2026 The NSL News reported on April 10th that French national coach Mathieu Bernier “could be on the verge of writing the next historic chapter in formation skydiving competition.” By that point, six rounds had been completed in all events, and his teams—Aethers (4-way Open), Nephtys (4-way Women), and AethersNephtys (8-way Open)—were either leading (Aethers, 8-way) or in strong contention for first place (Nephtys). China once again proved too strong in 4-way Women, capturing both gold and bronze with their two teams. Meanwhile, Aethers and the French 8-way combination of the two national... (more)
