Did You Know...

... that last weekend's Grand Prix event was the last test before the UK Nationals 2007?

AAA Class contender Team Elan
posted Jul 9th, 2007 - The scores of the Malevsky Cup 2007 on the front page have already been replaced by new scores from Great Britain. However, the NSL News will re-visit the event in Russia later today with Round 9 on NSL-TV.

The 4-way Grand Prix in Great Britain saw great participation once again. 24 teams competed in Hibaldstow last weekend and completed six rounds. The competition draw was slower this time, but the scores from the British teams were still impressive, as usual.

It was the first Grand Prix event of the 2007 season where AAA Class teams joined the 4-way competition in Great Britain. Team Elan won with a 16.3 average and seems to be well prepared for the big showdown at the British Nationals 2007 with the other female line-up, Perris Storm.

Rookie Class champion 4-Play
Last weekend's competition in Hibaldstow was the last opportunity for the British teams to get competition practice before the championship event. The British Nationals 2007 is scheduled for August 18 and also concludes the Grand Prix 2007.

The race for the first places in the event series is still open in all competition classes except the Rookie Class. Team 4-Play won each of the previous three meets and cannot be caught by any other Rookie Class team any longer. 4-Play won with an 8.0 average last weekend. The line-up consists of Amy Kitson, Tom Hibbard, Nick Lord and Cath Rybinski. Congratulations to the British Rookie Class champion of 2007.

Wingnutz is in a similar position in the AA Class after winning two of the three previous Grand Prix meets. No other team is close enough to threaten the Wingnutz lead seriously in the Grand Prix standings. Wingnutz would have to miss the last meet or place at the bottom of the field, and Fend 4 Yourself would have to win at the same time to change the current standings.

AA Class contender Wingnutz
Only the A Class competition has an open race going into the British Nationals 2007. Sonic V has won two of the three meets and is in the strongest position, even though Sonic V is only in second place at the moment with 20 Grand Prix points. Phobia has attended three meets and collected 24 Grand Prix points.

Sonic V has posted the higher meet averages so far and has a good chance to win at the British Nationals 2007, as well. However, Phobia is close enough to take care of themselves at the final meet, and Sonic V would also need help by other teams. A second place would still be good enough for Phobia to win the Grand Prix 2007, even if Sonic V takes the 1st place at the final event. It will be a very interesting competition in the A Class, as well.
