Did You Know...

... that Full Stop does not even slow down?

Dutch AA Class champion of 2010: Creeps
posted May 6th, 2011 - It's the last day before the British 4-way teams will post their first outdoor scores this year, and it's the last opportunity to introduce more of the teams that may compete this weekend in Netheravon.

The World Challenge 2011 naturally attracted many of the UK teams to Bodyflight Bedford, and the NSL News recently covered the AAA Class competition with the focus on the home teams on UK soil.

NSL-TV has now put together a clip with Round 9 and Round 10 of all AA Class teams at the World Challenge 2011, and the scores feature only the AA Class. Seven of the 13 teams had a relatively short trip to Bedford, and UK teams can be found on all parts of the leaderboard.

The visitors from other parts of Europe and the USA did not make it easy for the UK teams to get to the top of the leaderboard. In fact, only the AA Class winner, Full Stop, made the Top 5. However, it was a very convincing and unchallenged victory for UK's best AA Class team.

British A Class champion of 2010: Full Stop
The beginning of a new season traditionally has UK teams and many others move up into the next competition class. The NSL News mentioned earlier that TUnagi and Slot Machines competed in the AAA Class at the World Challenge 2011 after moving up from the AA Class last year.

The situation is naturally similar in the AA Class, and it begins on the very top. Full Stop is the UK champion of 2010 in the A Class and dominated the UK Nationals 2010 (15.4) as much as the AA Class competition at the World Challenge 2011. The move into the AA Class was not a surprise, and it still does not not even seem to slow down Full Stop.

Eclipse finished in 2nd place at the UK Nationals 2010 and took on the AA Class dive pool at the World Challenge 2010, as well. Gr4ity was one of the main competitors for Eclipse in 2010 and moved up into the AA Class together with last year's silver medalist. Gr4ity's challenge was successful at the World Challenge 2011 with a 3-point advantage after ten rounds. Eclipse had won the same race at the UK Nationals by six points.

British AA Class champion of 2010: Unagi
The other four British AA Class teams did not compete at the UK Nationals 2010 but created great internal competition in Bedford. G4B and the AA Class lineup of the Brit Chicks were separated by one single point after ten rounds. Kryos Airkix was only two points ahead of Gr4ity. Satori's farm team Purple was in Bedford to experience 4-way competition and took the honor position at the bottom of the field.

This year's AA Class competition in the United Kingdom may offer similar great races throughout the whole season, just as it happened in 2010. It is also possible that Unagi and Slot Machines will continue their internal battle in the AAA Class this year.

Both teams launched their 2010 race at the May meet where Unagi won by eight points after six rounds. Slot Machines did not attend the June meet but were back for the next battle in July. Unagi won again and took the AA Class title at the UK Nationals 2010. Unagi also won the first AAA Class competition between both teams this year at the World Challenge, although Slot Machines has reduced the distance. The competition in Netheravon begins tomorrow morning.
